Are Priyanka and Meghan no Longer Friends?

Reportedly, the friendship between Priyanka Chopra and Meghan Markle may be coming towards an end.

According to a source who spoke to a tabloid magazine, their friendship is on the rocks after both declined to attend each other’s events.

The actress’ absence at the Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower in New York in January 2019 did not go unnoticed.

Chopra was in attendance at Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry, however, Meghan declined to attend Priyanka’s wedding to Nick Jonas. According to the source, Priyanka was left “crushed”.

Meghan’s absence was put down to her pregnancy. A source said:

“Meghan will not be going to Priyanka’s wedding, especially now that she is pregnant.”

The source claimed that Priyanka’s no-show at the baby shower co-hosted by Serena Williams and Amal Clooney was due to Meghan not attending her wedding.

Chopra was reportedly “bogged down” in Los Angeles with meetings about a book she is writing, but apparently, the real reason is that her feelings were hurt.

The unnamed source claimed: “Their friendship is over unless Meghan apologises. Priyanka is a huge international star with a tremendous social media following.

“She is probably more famous worldwide than Meghan is.

“She feels Meghan didn’t respect her and didn’t respect their friendship.”

A spokesperson for the Bollywood actress declined to comment, but a source close to Priyanka firmly denied the rumours and said:

“There are no issues between the two women. They are friends, and anything you’re being told otherwise is inaccurate and untrue.”

Priyanka met Meghan in 2016 while she was starring in Quantico and the two became friends.

The friendship between Priyanka Chopra and Meghan Markle has been documented on social media. The actress previously spoke about her friendship.

“It was just an easy, natural progression. We’ve managed to keep in touch via email and text and try to see each other whenever we’re both in the same town.

Priyanka praised the Duchess on Instagram when the former Suits actress released a cookbook. She wrote:

“This is everything you always stood for. Women supporting women.”

Priyanka also paid tribute to her friend when she was placed on the Time List of 100 Most Influential People.

Rumours of their uneasy friendship are prominent, but it is just speculation. We wait to see what Priyanka and Meghan have to say about it.
