“Hey @priyankachopra let’s do a movie”
Fans of Priyanka Chopra will be sad to hear that her US TV show, Quantico has been cancelled by ABC after only three seasons.
ABC made their decision after noting a remarkable drop in views as the FBI drama began its third season in April 2018.
On the show, Priyanka plays an FBI recruit who is framed for a bombing attack. While the drama saw promise when it initially launched in 2015, its somewhat dense storyline led to many viewers eventually switching off.
Its fate hung in the balance at the end of season two, with some unsure whether or not it would continue. Showrunner Josh Safran, who was only contracted for two seasons had left and was replaced by Michael Seitzman for a 13 episode run.
However, on its return after an absence of almost a year, the first three episodes averaged a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo, with a total of 2.3 million viewers.
This is despite the drama seeing high international sales, owing to Priyanka’s huge popularity in India and its surroundings.
Chopra even won two People’s Choice Awards for her performance on the political thriller. Despite the show allowing a surge in Chopra’s popularity in the US, many online trolls are glad to see the TV show get axed.
Okay so ABC submitted Designated Survivor and Quantico for Emmys and then cancelled them hours later.

Some Twitter users even labelled Quantico the ‘worst show’ and were glad to see it end.

Fans of Priyanka however, have taken Quantico’s cancellation as a silver lining, as it will free up their favourite star to do bigger and even better things:

Undoubtedly, the US TV show did much to cement Priyanka’s position as a star to watch in America. As a Desi actress, she has furthered the entertainment industry’s move towards better representation of ethnicities on screen.
Of course, it will inevitably mean that fans will also be able to see the talented Chopra in more Bollywood and Hollywood films from now on.
We all can shit on #Quantico but there isn't any denying that the show and ABC helped Priyanka be an established global trotter by giving her a noticable platform! It was her hardwork but opportunities do matter.

Those not invested in PC’s career prior to Quantico are upset about it ending. For me, this is new beginnings. PC has the connections…trust she has good things coming.

In fact, fans have already spoken out about roles that Priyanka could tackle.
Many are hoping to see the Bollywood actress play Kamala Khan in the confirmed MCU film on comic superhero Ms. Marvel.
It seems that Priyanka has no need to worry about future opportunities. Interestingly, actor Kal Penn reached out to Priyanka on Twitter after the cancellation announcement was made.
He tweeted her, saying: “Hey @priyankachopra let’s do a movie.”

Priyanka responded to Kal’s request, saying: “Done n done.” Seeing the fun interaction between the two established actors, we could hopefully expect a Desi collaboration very soon!

In the meantime, following her Hollywood debut with Baywatch, Priyanka is expected to star in two upcoming films. A Kid Like Jake sees Priyanka join Jim Parsons and Claire Danes. The film will release in June 2018.
She will also feature as a yoga ambassador in Isn’t It Romantic with Rebel Wilson, Adam Devine and Liam Hemsworth. The comedy is expected to release on Valentine’s Day 2019.
Chopra will also be starring alongside Salman Khan in the Bollywood film, Bharat, after an absence of nearly three years. The film will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
The third and final season of Quantico will continue to air until its season finale, in July 2018.
