Quantico actress and Bollywood favourite, Priyanka Chopra, has become the first South Asian actress to win a People’s Choice Award (PCA).
She won the award of ‘Favourite Actress in a New TV Series’ for her role as the FBI agent in leading US sitcom, Quantico.
The event which took place on January 6, 2015 showed the 42nd edition of the Awards which strives in recognising the people, and is decided by a public vote.

She won the award over other famous names who were nominated, including Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and Marcia Gay Harden.
Priyanka took to Twitter to exclaim her joy for gratitude for the award:
“I am so fortunate! Thank U to everyone who voted for me at the #PCAs! My #PCManiacs-I am nothing without you!Big love”
The tweet was liked over 6,000 times and retweeted 2,700 times.
Priyanka’s involvement with the awards has pushed the Twitter hashtag #PeoplesChoiceAwards to one of the top trends in India.
Other famous names also took to Twitter to congratulate the star on her extraordinary achievement, such as Homeland actor, Nimrat Kaur, and Quantico writer, Sharbari Ahmed.

Not only did she impress by winning her award, her outfit certainly dazzled the audience and the public.
She wore a glittering gold and silver dress, which was designed by famous American fashion designer, Vera Wang.
Her makeup look was created by Stephanie Barnes, whose make-up station was featured on PeeCee’s Twitter to show her look before the show.
The Bollywood babe certainly didn’t keep her fans waiting as she constantly uploaded pictures and updates to her social media site.
One Instagram post also saw how she was preparing for the show, as she uploaded a selfie of her eating a burger with the caption:
“Red carpet prep!!!! Yummmmmmm! #PCAs tonight! #BurgersAreTheBest”
Other winners at the awards included The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons, Dawson’s Creek star Sasha Alexander, and music stars Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.
Priyanka, who is well known for her roles in various Bollywood movies such as Andaaz (2003), Krrish (2006), was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani (2015).
Alongside shooting this film, she has been working hard in Quantico in the US. And she certainly seems to have made an impression on her new US audience!
Priyanka will be next appearing on screen on March 4, 2016 in her forthcoming Bollywood film, Jai Gangaajal.
