"They told my landlord to kick me out."

Actor Uorfi Javed has called out her Mumbai housing society over a new restrictive rule.

She claims the rule is making it difficult for her to work from home.

Uorfi took to Instagram Stories on October 27, 2026, to share her frustration publicly.

She claimed the society committee has introduced a rule preventing her from shooting content.

This restriction specifically applies to filming inside her own apartment in Mumbai.

She believes the move is linked to an earlier dispute she had with the society.

That dispute involved restrictions placed on visitors, which she had escalated to the Mumbai Police.

Uorfi claimed the society committee considers her social media shoots a commercial activity.

She said this is because she posts the videos online for her followers to see.

The actress claimed the committee has now used this reasoning to stop her filming at home.

Expressing anger over the decision, she wrote:

“My society committee has introduced a new rule to harass me.

“I can’t shoot any content in my own house!”

The latest dispute comes after an earlier disagreement involving visitor restrictions at the society.

That rule reportedly required residents to seek their landlord’s permission for guests after 6 PM.

Uorfi had approached the Mumbai Police over this particular restriction at the time.

She now believes the committee’s latest actions are a direct response to her complaint.

Uorfi claimed that some society members later approached her landlord and asked for her eviction.

According to the actor, her landlord refused to comply with this request from the committee.

Following this refusal, she claimed the alleged harassment against her continued.

She wrote: “This hurt their fragile male ego.

“They told my landlord to kick me out, which she didn’t, so now 4-5 men have had to use such low-level tactics to harass me.

“Kind of proud of myself.”

The actor also claimed that visitors to her apartment face additional scrutiny at the gate.

She said this scrutiny applies especially if they are suspected of carrying filming equipment.

The star claimed visitors’ bags are being checked at the society gate before entry.

This raised questions about how far the committee can regulate activity inside a resident’s home.

Pointing out that creating social media content at home is extremely common nowadays, Uorfi questioned the rule:

“Every other person shoots content in their house, how is this rule even legal?

“What I do in my own house is my business.”

This is not the first time Uorfi has spoken out against her society’s rules.

She had previously raised concerns about visitor restrictions back in September 2026.

Uorfi Javed later said the society would face consequences over the ongoing issue.
