"A little piece of my heart broke tonight."

Playback singer Shilpa Rao’s husband, Ritesh Krishnan, was angered by her recent performance.

Her performance at the Bollywood Music Project in Mumbai was cut short midway through.

Her microphone and audio equipment were reportedly switched off before she could finish.

The incident took place on October 24, 2026, during her scheduled set at the event.

Shilpa was left visibly hurt by what happened during her performance that night.

She later admitted that the abrupt ending had broken a little piece of her heart.

The organisers have since apologised for not letting her complete her full performance.

Ritesh expressed his disappointment over the incident through a social media post afterwards.

He said it was particularly painful to watch someone he loves being treated that way.

Ritesh wrote: “I felt angry. I felt disappointed. I felt helpless!”

He explained that while audiences know Shilpa through her songs, he knows her personally.

Ritesh added that he understands how much her music and fans truly mean to her, saying:

“To stand there last night, watching my wife being treated with such disrespect, was something I will never forget!”

Shilpa also shared an emotional message addressed directly to her Mumbai audience afterwards.

She wrote: “Mumbai, a little piece of my heart broke tonight.

“It hurts deeply to have something so beautiful taken away from us like this.”

The singer thanked her fans for continuing to cheer for her even after the music stopped.

She said their voices and the way they kept calling her name meant a lot.

“Our story tonight was left unfinished. I promise, I will come back.”

She assured fans that she would return to Mumbai for a show of her own.

According to reports, her set was cut short because the event was running behind schedule.

Her microphone and electronic audio equipment were switched off midway through her performance.

As she tried to thank the audience and say goodbye, another act began unexpectedly.

Fellow performer Kutle Khan started his set, interrupting her closing remarks on stage.

The abrupt ending left many fans visibly disappointed at the event.

Following the backlash online, the organisers issued a public apology on social media.

They expressed regret over their inability to present Shilpa Rao’s complete set that evening.

The organisers said they held the singer in high regard within the music industry.

They also added that it was an honour to have had her perform at the event.
