"I've been subjected to the harshest trolling."
Actor and influencer Uorfi Javed has spoken out about the relentless and deeply disturbing online abuse she says she faces daily.
She shared screenshots of rape threats, death threats and hateful messages on Instagram in a post that has since drawn widespread attention.
The post came shortly after her win on The Traitors Season 1, a victory that apparently intensified the volume of abuse directed at her.
Uorfi posted the Instagram Reel, making clear that what she shared represented only the very tip of a much larger and uglier iceberg.
She stated that the messages she chose to share were among the most restrained examples compared to what she typically receives from strangers online.
“I’ve been subjected to the harshest trolling, abuses, rape threats, death threats.
“When I say harshest, I mean it. This is not even 1% of it.
“Random people got hold of my number and used to call me and abuse me.
“I’ve even gotten rape threats and death threats on my number.”
She went further, making clear that her experience was not unique to her but was instead a reflection of what countless women endure on social media every day.
“I kid you not, even this is not even 1%. These are actually the most decent ones.
“This is not just me, by the way. This is the reality of women on social media platforms.”
“Abusing them, rape threats and death threats are a norm.”
The post drew an immediate and substantial wave of support from her followers who praised her courage in addressing the issue so publicly.
Many urged her not to let the abuse diminish her spirit, while others specifically applauded her resilience and willingness to expose those sending the messages.
A user said: “More strength to you, my girl. Always was your supporter.”
Another wrote: “Making a name for yourself, taking care of your family and standing strong despite all the noise is no small feat.
“Keep thriving – we’re proud of you.”
Uorfi did not blur the usernames of the individuals who had sent her the abusive and threatening messages.
This is far from the first time she has used her platform to draw attention to issues around women’s safety and the culture of online hostility.
Uorfi Javed had previously weighed in on controversy surrounding comedian Pranit More’s viral crowd-work clip, describing the exchange as “disgusting.”
While that video has since been deleted, the criticism surrounding the incident has continued to circulate and generate discussion.
