A Birmingham food and business hub was gutted by a fire, after firefighters worked for hours to bring the blaze under control.
Flames engulfed the Art Quarter venue on Allison Street, Digbeth, at around 12:30 am, prompting West Midlands Fire Service to send several crews to the scene.
Five crews initially attended the incident, with firefighters urging members of the public to avoid the area where possible while emergency services dealt with the blaze.
Firefighters worked through the night using breathing apparatus, main jets and hose reels as they tackled the fire inside the commercial building.
West Midlands Fire Service later confirmed that there were no casualties following the incident.
A spokesperson said four crews remained involved, with eight firefighters using breathing apparatus alongside two main jets and two hose reels to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters managed to put out the blaze just after 4 am.
Firefighters are expected to revisit the building to check for hotspots as part of the ongoing response.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and has not yet been confirmed by West Midlands Fire Service.
The affected building is home to a digital gallery, food hall and hair salon, although the extent of any damage to the businesses has not yet been established.
Images from the scene showed flames and thick smoke emerging from the building on Allison Street as firefighters responded during the early hours.
The incident comes as Digbeth continues to develop as one of Birmingham’s major creative and cultural areas, attracting arts venues, entertainment spaces, food businesses and independent companies.
