"Why are you swearing at him?"
A heated confrontation between Kashmiri nationalists and Pakistan supporters turned physical outside the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham.
Video footage showed a man wearing a blazer calling the Kashmiri nationalists “b*****ds”.
As the man’s behaviour grew more aggressive, one of the Kashmir supporters pushed him.
The forceful shove resulted in the man falling off the step and hitting a parked car.
Things escalated as others began pushing. Meanwhile, the Kashmir supporter defended his actions, asking:
“Why are you swearing at him?”
The man returned to his feet and insisted that nobody was swearing.
As efforts were made to keep the two groups apart, the Kashmiri repeatedly said:
“Get lost, don’t swear at me.”
The incident took place on October 27, observed by Pakistan as Jammu and Kashmir Black Day.
The date marks the arrival of Indian troops in Srinagar in 1947 and is commemorated by Pakistan and some Kashmiri groups to highlight the unresolved Kashmir dispute and calls for self-determination.
The region remains divided between Indian and Pakistani administration, with both countries claiming it in full.
On social media, the incident sparked a variety of reactions.
? BIRMINGHAM | KASHMIR PROTEST TURNS PHYSICAL OUTSIDE PAKISTAN CONSULATE ??
Tensions between Kashmiri nationalists and Pakistan supporters hit boiling point today, going from bad words to violence.
A man in a blazer called the Kashmiri nationalists “bastards”. Seconds later, one of the nationalists shoved him with full force and sent him flying into a parked car. Pushing, pointing and shouting followed before people were pulled apart.
Meanwhile, back in Kashmir, human rights continue to be violated.
And here these lot are in Birmingham, fighting each other in a car park on the very day meant to remember the people of Kashmir. While these guys play games with each other, the people actually suffering are forgotten.
Unite against the oppressor, whoever it is. Otherwise what was today even for? ????

Some praised the Kashmiri group’s efforts.
Speculating what caused the clash, one person wrote:
“Both sides here are of Kashmiri origin. The nationalists took offence at being accused by the pro-Pak of being in India’s pocket and reacted violently.
“If police cracked down on them, they would be crying injustice.”
Siding with the Kashmiri group, another said:
“I totally support the Kashmiri nationalists. That Pakistani tried to use the ‘Backed by India Saar’ slur and it backfired big time.
“We, Pashtun nationalists, support you Kashmiris, who support independence from Pakistan and India.”
The viral video also sparked racially motivated comments, as one said:
“Why are we importing this lot into our country? Wake the f**k up people!”
Another commented: “Cannot live with their own race and we let them overrun the country.”
A third said: “Deport the lot.”
Kashmir remains at the centre of a longstanding dispute between India and Pakistan, with competing territorial claims and continuing concerns over human rights in the region.
