"It might be going in the other direction."
Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have a special Diwali surprise for Indian fans.
The Hollywood stars extended their festive wishes, revealing that Avengers: Doomsday will release early in India.
The film will release in Indian theatres a day before its US release.
It is scheduled to hit Indian theatres on December 17, 2026.
Downey Jr. plays Doctor Doom, while Evans portrays Steve Rogers in the movie.
It will release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across Indian cinemas.
The US release, meanwhile, is set for December 18 this year.
This gives Indian audiences an early opportunity to watch the much-anticipated superhero film.
In a special video message, Downey Jr. and Evans warmly greeted Indian fans.
They drew an interesting parallel between the festival of Diwali and the film’s storyline, saying:
“Namaste India! What we love about Diwali is it marks the closing of one chapter and beginning of another.
“That’s something we know a lot about, except instead of moving from dark to light, I think it might be going in the other direction.
“Happy Diwali and we will see you in Avengers: Doomsday. You Bet!”
