With Meghan Markle now engaged to Prince Harry, thoughts have turned to her bridesmaids and who she will choose. Could Priyanka Chopra be one of them?
Sadly, it may be some time before we know for definite. The wedding has been scheduled for May 2018 – plenty of time for the bride to make her choices.
In the meantime, speculation has become rife over the potential candidates. The US actress has built up great friendships in the industry. But she does share a close bond with Priyanka.
The Bollywood starlet congratulated Meghan on her engagement to Prince Harry. Sharing a photo of the couple on social media, she said:
“Congratulations to my girl [Meghan] and Prince Harry!! I’m so happy for you Meg! You deserve the best always..keep smiling that infectious smile. Xoxo.”
With such a heartwarming message, we can’t help but feel Priyanka would be an excellent choice!
The two first met in 2015 in Toronto, Canada where Meghan filmed Suits. Immediately hitting it off, the star shortly interviewed Priyanka for her lifestyle blog.
Since then, their bond has blossomed into a tight friendship. On Instagram, Meghan has shared with fans fun images of them. From having cheeky cocktails to “date nights” in New York, these two give us major friend goals!
PeeCee has even commented on their closeness, revealing how they connected in a shared passion for acting: “We bonded as actors. We just became friends, like two girls would.”
She also criticised those who deem Meghan as famous for just being ‘Harry’s girlfriend’, as she said to People:
“Sometimes women become plus-ones and guys become plus-ones. It’s who is on the radar more.
“I think in an overall scheme of things, it’s harder for girls to be able to make their own and stand for what they are, and I’m a girl love kind of girl.”
Loyalty, fun and supportive; just some of the amazing qualities the actress shows in her friendship with Meghan. If only we could join PeeCee’s squad too!
Meanwhile, many of the bride-to-be’s famous friends could also be on the potential list, including Serena Williams, Jessica Mulroney, Lindsay Roth and even Kate Middleton.
Since 27th November 2017, the wedding has been on everyone’s lips. Truly it will hail as a landmark event for the Royal Family, perhaps even showing a change.
Currently, Kensington Palace has revealed only little bits of information on the exciting occasion. For example, that it will take place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Until the official announcement of Meghan’s bridesmaids, we can only hope Priyanka will be one of them. Perhaps injecting a touch of Bollywood glamour to the anticipated day!
