Popular clothing brand Bonanza Satrangi has officially addressed the controversy surrounding screenshots of Maryam Hanif Balwani on social media.

The organisation released a detailed statement on March 3, 2026, to clarify the status of the woman within their company.

They claimed a female had been falsely presenting herself as the chief executive officer to the public.

The management addressed the screenshots and the impersonation through a public message they shared with their customers recently.

“We are writing to address several screenshots which are currently circulating on social media.

“It has come to our attention that a female has been falsely claiming and impersonating to be the CEO of Bonanza Satrangi.”

They continued the official statement by clarifying that she does not hold any role within the internal board.

“This imposter is not our CEO, a member of our Board of Directors, or part of the company.

“They have no legal, professional, or contractual association with our organisation in any capacity.”

The company has decided to distance itself from the remarks which were attributed to the account on various platforms.

This clarification followed widely circulated comments from Maryam Hanif Balwani regarding the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei.

One post that sparked the initial outrage contained a very direct attack on the respected religious leader from Iran, saying:

“What do we mean by the Prime Minister of Iran? By the way, he/Shia was an enemy of Islam.”

These specific remarks quickly prompted a massive response from social media users who were deeply offended by the message.

Many individuals criticised the comments and began linking the divisive sentiments to the official Bonanza Satrangi fashion brand.

A critic on the internet called the remarks irresponsible, saying:

“As CEO of Bonanza Satrangi, Maryam Hanif Balwani’s public remarks labelling Ali Khamenei an ‘enemy of Islam’ were irresponsible and divisive.

“Business leaders should promote unity, not sectarian tension.”

Another post suggested the brand was allegedly promoting an international agenda, which caused further outrage among the local population.

Angry reactions soon evolved into a widespread call for a total boycott of the popular clothing brand across Pakistan.

Following this intense backlash, Balwani shared a message claiming her original words were being misinterpreted by the general public.

She wrote: “Some people are trying to harm my business by misinterpreting my words. I never called Khamenei a Jew.

“His statements have been against Sunnis, that is why we said that.”

She concluded her defence by saying: “Our family has made a lot of sacrifices to build this business. Please do not name our business.

“We apologise to every citizen of Pakistan. We sincerely apologise.”

This apology failed to calm the situation, as many users felt it did not properly address the original concerns.

A user said: “We will still boycott your brand.”

The brand statement also faced scrutiny as people questioned the claim that Balwani was not part of the company.

The ongoing controversy has left the reputation of the fashion house in a very delicate position among its customers.
