Veteran television host Hanif Sanket has announced that he will take legal action against those responsible for misusing his voice.

He strongly condemned its use in deceptive online advertisements.

The host called the act fraudulent and vowed to take legal action against those responsible.

The creator and presenter of the iconic Bangladeshi television show Ityadi shared a detailed post on Facebook.

He revealed that artificial intelligence was used to mimic his voice for a diabetes-related ad that has been circulating on Facebook and YouTube.

Sanket clarified that he has never appeared in or endorsed any advertisement, despite receiving numerous offers over the years. He wrote:

“For the past few days, I’ve noticed a fraudulent group using segments of my presentation from Ityadi on platforms like Facebook and YouTube to promote diabetes-related advertisements via AI technology.”

He added that while the imitation may seem convincing at first, a closer listen exposes flaws in pronunciation and tone.

This suggests the voice was artificially generated and not his own.

The host said: “No matter how refined artificial intelligence may seem, a closer listen reveals it is fake.”

He urged the public not to be misled and confirmed he had no association with such promotions.

Beyond personal concern, Sanket used the opportunity to warn about the broader implications of AI misuse.

He noted: “In this era of technological advancement, misuse has become so widespread that many are falling victim to digital deception.”

Sanket explained that AI, while designed to imitate human intelligence, is now being manipulated to create confusion and harassment.

Referencing similar concerns voiced by British artists demanding updated copyright protections, Sanket echoed the need for legal safeguards.

He urged policymakers in Bangladesh to take swift and thoughtful steps to regulate AI-based technologies and protect individuals from their unethical use.

The post has since sparked discussions online, with fans and fellow artists rallying in support of Hanif Sanket.

Many expressed concern about the growing misuse of AI in the creative sector, particularly in the absence of strict legal frameworks.

As AI technology rapidly evolves, this recent scam highlights the urgent need for legislative clarity in Bangladesh regarding digital rights.

With Hanif Sanket preparing to take legal steps, the issue may soon reach the courts.

It might potentially set an important precedent in the country’s digital media landscape.
