the bride was upset at the sudden turn of events.
A bizarre incident occurred when an Indian bride married one of her guests after the groom disappeared from the wedding venue.
The incident took place on May 16, 2021, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
It was reported that the guest was part of the groom’s wedding procession.
Both the bride and groom had turned up to the ceremony and carried out the necessary marriage ceremonies, including the exchange of garlands.
The families were getting ready for the main wedding ceremony when the groom suddenly disappeared.
Both families began searching for the groom. Meanwhile, the bride was upset at the sudden turn of events.
After searching for some time, the bride’s family discovered that the groom was not missing.
In actual fact, he ran away on purpose. However, it is not known why he fled his own wedding.
Seeing the bride’s family upset, one of the guests suggested that the marriage should take place with another man.
The bride’s family searched for and eventually found a boy.
After speaking to the young man and his family, the marriage was agreed upon.
The marriage then took place at the same venue.
After the wedding, the Indian bride and her family filed a police complaint against the groom and his family.
Inspector Shesh Narain Pandey said:
“We have received a complaint in this regard from both the bride and groom sides.”
“While the bride’s side has sought suitable action against the groom and his family members, the groom’s father, Dharampal, in his complaint, has sought police help to trace his missing son.
“Investigations are continuing in this regard.”
Cases like this are not uncommon.
One incident in Murthal, Uttar Pradesh saw a bride marry another man after the groom fled his wedding.
One hour before the wedding, the groom said he had to go out, however, he did not return.
The groom told a friend that he did not want to get married.
Meanwhile, the bride’s family did not know until they were at the venue. The bride’s father was shocked by the news and did not know what to tell his daughter.
But the situation took a unique turn when one of the guests suggested for a man from the village to get married instead.
After consent was given by both sets of families, the new groom got dressed and got married two hours later.
