The release marks a strong start to 2026 for KATSEYE.
KATSEYE are starting the new year with fresh momentum as they officially release new music, signalling another confident chapter in their fast-rising global journey.
The HYBE x Geffen girl group have unveiled the studio version of their song ‘Internet Girl’, after first performing it live on the opening night of their Beautiful Chaos Tour in November.
An official release confirms the track was produced by hitmakers Mattman and Robin, with the song exploring the chaos of being online through irony, hyper visibility and digital performance.
The release marks a strong start to 2026 for KATSEYE, who continue to build excitement around their evolving sound and bold creative identity.
In just one month, the group are expected to attend the 2026 Grammy Awards, where they are nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo or Group Performance.
Their Grammy-nominated track ‘Gabriela’ has further cemented KATSEYE as one of the most closely watched pop acts on the global stage.
The group includes Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae Jeong.
With members from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States, KATSEYE are frequently described as a truly global girl group.
The group was formed through the 2023 reality competition series Dream Academy, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records.
Their journey was later documented in the Netflix series Popstar Academy: Katseye, which followed auditions, intensive training and the final formation process.
KATSEYE officially debuted in June 2024 with the single ‘Debut’, before gaining wider attention with their breakthrough release Touch.
Later that year, they released their first EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), introducing their confident pop sound and visual identity.
In April 2025, they dropped ‘Gnarly‘ as the lead single from their second EP, Beautiful Chaos.
Despite mixed reactions at release, ‘Gnarly’ gained significant attention and earned the group their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
Beautiful Chaos arrived on June 27, 2025, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200 and becoming their highest charting release to date.
The EP’s second single, ‘Gabriela,’ peaked within the Hot 100 top 40 and secured a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo or Group Performance.
Alongside their music success, KATSEYE are known for a distinctive fashion identity heavily influenced by Y2K aesthetics.
Their growing brand power has led to major endorsements, including campaigns with Fendi’s Baguette bag and Gap’s low-rise denim.
The group have also collaborated with Lush, Coach and Jollibee, highlighting their broad cultural reach.
Creative direction for KATSEYE comes from Humberto Leon, who draws inspiration from diverse influences and the members’ multicultural backgrounds.
South Asian representation remains central through member Lara Raj, who is a vocal advocate for visibility within global pop culture.
Raj often wears culturally significant adornments, including a bindi, Om necklace and bangles, proudly reflecting her South Asian identity.
With ‘Internet Girl’ now officially released and Grammy recognition ahead, KATSEYE’s new year is already shaping up to be a defining one.
