the woman refused, saying that they had an age gap of 10 years.
An Indian woman has filed a police case against her lover. She claimed that she was left cheated by him.
The matter took place in the city of Mohali, Punjab.
It was revealed that the man, from Jalalabad, was 10 years younger than the woman. The man was identified as 23-year-old Varun Bajaj.
The woman said she felt cheated by Varun as he had promised to marry her but never went through with it. She said that his empty promise continued for two years.
The unnamed woman told officers at Kapurthala Police Station that Varun worked at various offices in Chandigarh.
During this time, they became acquainted with one another through a mutual friend.
They got into a relationship and eventually, Varun proposed to her.
However, the woman refused, saying that they had an age gap of 10 years.
According to the Indian woman, after a few days, Varun proposed to her again. This time, she agreed to the marriage.
But the marriage never came to fruition despite Varun saying that they will get married.
Whenever the woman discussed their supposed marriage, Varun would refuse.
The woman alleged that Varun had been pretending to want to marry her and he did so for two years.
The woman felt cheated by his actions so she decided to file a police complaint.
After explaining to officers what had happened, the police filed a Zero-FIR which meant that an investigation was underway straight away.
The case was sent to Phase-1 Police Station in Mohali.
Based on the information that was provided by the woman, a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Varun.
Efforts are being made to bring him in for questioning.
In another case, a man married his girlfriend due to fate after he tried to cheat her.
Jaspreet Kaur and Jagsir Singh were set to get married, however, their wedding was postponed due to the lockdown.
They had been living together but on April 13, 2020, Jagsir packed his belongings and left.
It was revealed that Jagsir was set to marry another woman. Jaspreet found out on April 15 when a vehicle broke down near a set of flats where Jaspreet worked as a domestic help.
Locals gathered around the car, including Jaspreet.
The car was decorated with flowers. She saw her boyfriend dressed as a groom and found out that he was on his way to marry someone else.
An angry Jaspreet pulled out the flower decorations and tore the sehra tied on Jagsir’s head. She then called the police.
They came to an agreement that Jagsir will marry Jaspreet.
Jagsir said: “Police said I will have to spend ten years in jail if I don’t marry Jaspreet. I had no other option left. I did not want to go to jail.
“Yes, we were in a relationship for three years, but recently we had a fight. Hence I had agreed to marry someone else.”
