"Looking for a handsome 50-year-old man for my mother!"

An Indian daughter has turned into a matchmaker for her mother as she took to Twitter to search for a man.

She posted a tweet looking for a suitable 50-year-old groom for her mother. The tweet received a lot of attention.

The matrimonial advert comes after a similar method was used in 2015 when a mother was looking for a suitable bride for her son.

Law student Aastha Varma took to Twitter on October 31, 2019, where she posted the advert for her mother.

She posted a picture of herself with her mother, along with the requirements that she felt were ideal for her mother.

Aastha wrote: “Looking for a handsome 50-year-old man for my mother! Vegetarian, Non-Drinker, Well Established. #Groomhunting.”

The tweet went viral and it received more than 32,000 likes and over 14,000 responses.

Normally it is mothers looking for a groom for their daughters but the role reversal makes this matrimonial advert even more heartwarming.

Many have praised Aastha for helping her mother find a man. While some are wishing her all the best, others are even tagging men who fit the Indian daughter’s criteria.

One person wrote: “So sweet and wonderful what you’re doing for your mom.. hope she finds love, joy and happiness.”

Another social media user commented:

“Awesome job lots of love and blessings to you for doing this for your mummy.”

One user advised Aastha to go on a dating website to look for a groom, but she revealed that her mother used them but was unsuccessful.

Aastha also explained that she did not step in to help until recently.

The user wrote: “You are on the wrong website. There are proper websites for this very purpose.”

Aastha responded: “Tried. Failed. I did not intervene till a long time..but socha, for her happiness. I can at least search up where I have a voice.”

The lengths that Aastha has gone to prompted Shaadi.com to step and try to help.

They wrote on Twitter: “Hey Aastha, your quest to find your mother a partner is truly inspiring and we would really like to help you in this journey.

“Why don’t you give VIP Shaadi a shot? Your one-month membership is on us.”

Users have expressed their wish to see a positive outcome following Aastha’s matrimonial advert for her mother.

One person said: “Now that we’ve seen this, we need an update, hopefully a happy one. Best wishes.”

With all the responses that Aastha Varma received, hopefully, there will be a happy outcome for her mother.
