Alsubah left her room to help some of the guests
The mother of an Indian groom was found dead in strange circumstances at a hotel in Madhya Pradesh.
The deceased had been at the hotel for her son’s wedding. It was reported that the family arrived at the hotel at around 8 pm on February 2, 2020.
Alsubah, the deceased, left her room to help with the wedding guests, however, she did not return.
Her death came to light on the morning of February 3 when her body was discovered.
When she failed to return to her room, concerned family members conducted a search at the Hotel Raj Palace in Neemuch.
After searching for Alsubah, they went to the basement where they found her body immersed in water.
The police were informed and a team led by Baghana Police Station in-charge RC Dangi arrived at the scene.
While the body was sent for a post-mortem, the family have demanded an investigation to be launched, suspecting foul play.
According to the police, Alsubah was 47-years-old and from the town of Nimbahera, Rajasthan.
Her son was set to get married on February 4, so the whole family stayed at the hotel for the wedding.
Pre-wedding festivities were scheduled for February 3. Some of the guests arrived the day before, others were still arriving.
Alsubah left her room to help some of the guests to their rooms but she did not return.
Officers have conducted a preliminary investigation. They believe that the Indian groom’s mother fell into the basement near the lift, causing her death.
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
Her husband Dev Kishan explained that the family arrived at the hotel at around 8 pm.
Alsubah left the room to meet the wedding guests and to help them to their rooms. While guests reached their rooms, Alsubah did not.
When she did not return, her family searched the hotel and eventually found her lying in the basement, surrounded by water.
Mr Kishan alleged that the family asked for help but the hotel staff refused to provide assistance.
He has claimed that negligence by the hotel led to a fatal accident. Mr Kishan went on to say that such an incident cannot happen without foul play.
CCTV cameras are present at the hotel but were reportedly off on the night Alsubah died.
Police officers continue to investigate the death of Alsubah. More information will be provided once they receive the results of the post-mortem.
