"They have decided to tentatively push the Shaadi to November"
The Coronavirus has caused major upset to various aspects of life including daily activities, work, income and now it seems to have affected Bollywood weddings.
Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty of the pandemic impending weddings have been forced to cancel.
Currently, the weddings of Varun Dhawan with Natasha Dalal and Richa Chadha with Ali Fazal have been indefinitely postponed.
Childhood sweethearts Varun and Natasha have always remained private about their relationship.
The couple has been dating for many years and is often spotted making public appearances together.
Ultimately, this has led to speculations of when the pair will be tying the knot.
In February 2020, the Dhawan family were seen at Natasha’s residence. This resulted in many people assuming the couple had their Roka ceremony.
However, Varun set the record straight and clarified that they went to attend Natasha’s father, Raju Dalal’s birthday party.
The couple has remained tight-lipped about their wedding plans. Despite this, the rumours of their wedding being postponed due to the Coronavirus has been making headlines.
According to a report by Mid Day, a source the couple was initially set to have a destination wedding in Thailand. The source said:
“The initial plan was to have an intimate wedding on a private island in Thailand but it was scrapped last month in favour of a destination wedding in Jodhpur.
“Eventually, they called that off too and were considering a low-key ceremony in Mumbai.”
“But looking at the current scenario, they have decided to tentatively push the Shaadi to November and have reverted to their original choice of destination, Thailand.”
However, as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus, the couple’s Thailand wedding will not go ahead.
The report continued to mention that the Dhawan family are requesting for a refund from the resort in Thailand.
Alongside Varun and Natasha’s delayed wedding, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha will also be waiting a while longer before they can exchange vows.
A spokesperson for the couple announced their decision to delay the wedding. The official statement read:
“Given the current scenario and the unfortunate turn of events owing to the COVID-19 pandemic globally, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have decided to postpone their wedding functions to the latter half of 2020 tentatively.
“They wish for everyone to be healthy and safe and at no cost would want their friends, families and well-wishers to be affected.”
It was rumoured Ali’s and Richa’s wedding was due to take place in Delhi with many oversea guests in attendance.
Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic has bought the world to a standstill.
We hope to see both couples tie the knot as soon as possible when the Coronavirus has cleared.
