He wanted to reconcile with her but she did not feel the same
An Indian woman from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh was stabbed to death. She was allegedly killed by her ex-husband after she refused to get married to him again.
The incident happened on Thursday, October 3, 2019, and it was a broad daylight attack in front of witnesses.
The victim was identified as Uzma Khan. Police officers explained that she was stabbed to death shortly after entering the shop where she worked.
Officers from Bajaria Police Station stated that her former husband was responsible as he and Uzma had recently had an argument.
They had been married in 2006 and had two children, however, they ended up getting a divorce in February 2019.
Uzma took their daughter to live at her parent’s house while their son lived with her ex-husband in Sehore.
Two days before her death, the young woman had gone to the police station to file a complaint against her ex-husband, identified as Shakir.
He wanted to reconcile with her but she did not feel the same way.
Over a period of time, Shakir had started pressuring her into marrying him on a regular basis but she constantly refused. This led to frequent rows between the estranged couple.
On October 3, 2019, Uzma arrived at the crockery shop where she worked, but at the same time, the suspect also entered.
The estranged couple had an argument before he brandished a knife.
Shakir attacked her, slashing her face and stabbing her in the stomach several times in front of her colleagues.
After the attack, Shakir dropped the weapon and fled the scene.
The Indian woman was left seriously injured and her co-workers took her to a nearby hospital. She died during treatment.
A police case was registered and officers investigated the CCTV footage in the area. They managed to identify the perpetrator and Shakir was arrested in Sehore on the same day.
While cases like this are horrific, they are unfortunately quite common. Some victims are assaulted while others have been killed.

Kataria then dragged her into the road and groped her. The woman explained what had happened to her husband and they filed a complaint.
Police officers spoke to witnesses and were able to identify the suspect. He was taken into custody where he confessed to molesting the woman.
