the cold-blooded killing was committed out of bitterness
An Indian man killed his girlfriend and chopped up her body. It is reported that it was over the fact that she married someone else.
According to reports, the brutal murder happened on November 15, 2022.
The matter came to light when locals discovered human remains inside a well near Paschimi village, Uttar Pradesh.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Aradhana Prajapati and her body was found in a semi-naked state.
Anurag Arya, the investigating officer and Superintendent of Police (Azamgarh), stated that the body appeared to be two to three days old.
A man named Prince Yadav was identified as the accused.
It is believed that Yadav, with the help of his parents, maternal uncle, cousin Sarvesh and other family members planned to kill Aradhana.
Reports have said that the cold-blooded killing was committed out of bitterness and jealousy over the fact that Aradhana had wed someone else instead of Yadav.
Aradhana resided in the Azamgarh district’s Ishaq Pur village.
The Indian man is said to have had an affair with the victim but did not know she had married another man earlier in 2022.
Yadav rode Aradhana to a temple on his bike on November 9, 2022.
When they arrived, he strangled her in a sugarcane field with the assistance of his cousin Sarvesh.
The two then divided her body into six pieces, placed the pieces in a polythene bag and dumped the bag of body parts into a well, according to police.
The attackers cut off the victim’s head and dumped it into a nearby pond.
So far, police have found a sharp-edged instrument, a pistol and a cartridge in the case.
Sarvesh, Pramila Yadav, Suman, Rajaram, Kalawati, Manju and Sheela are all still at large and are suspected of aiding Yadav in the crime.
Yadav was arrested by police on November 19, 2022.
Police took him to a location to recover the victim’s head.
But Yadav had concealed a pistol at the spot and used it against police in an attempt to flee.
During the encounter, Yadav suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound.
On social media, members of the public have spoken out against the ferocious violence that partners and ex-partners have recently committed against women.
Gargi Rawat, a news anchor, tweeted:
“Not only did Prince Yadav kill Aradhana Prajapati and chop up her body, but several family members helped him in the crime!
“In this case, the woman had left the relationship but he still killed in the end. Tragic.”
The crime is similar to the murder of Shraddha Walkar, who was killed by her abusive boyfriend and chopped up into 35 pieces.
