Indian Woman recalls Horror at the hands of Prajwal Revanna

A woman has levelled further allegations against politician Prajwal Revanna and his father HD Revanna, accusing them of sexual assault and harassment.

JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna is accused of sexually assaulting hundreds of women in Karnataka and filming the abuse.

Five days before the April 26, 2024, voting in Hassan, thousands of pen drives were circulated in public places such as bus stands and parks.

The pen drives contained hundreds of clips of the alleged abuse.

A woman has now alleged that Revanna raped her mother approximately five years ago at his Bengaluru residence.

She also claimed that between 2020 and 2021, she was manipulated by the politician into answering video calls and forced to strip.

The woman said: “He (Prajwal) used to call me and ask me to remove my clothes.

“He would call on my mother’s mobile and force me to answer the video calls.

“When I refused, he threatened to harm me and my mother. Our family supported us when they learned about the incidents and then we filed a complaint.

“My mother was raped and sexually harassed by Prajwal Revanna. She was sexually harassed by HD Revanna too.

“Prajwal used to threaten my mother that if she didn’t cooperate, he would snatch her husband’s job, make him unemployed, and even rape her daughter.”

She added that her father lost his job after they filed a complaint.

The woman stated that the persistent harassment forced her family to change their phone numbers.

Alleging that Revanna would sexually harass his female servants, the woman said:

“Yes, it’s true that Revanna would sexually harass the female servants under the pretext of giving them fruits, while Prajwal raped my mother.

“As of now, only three people have come out and spoken about these incidents in public.

“Three more servants haven’t spoken about these atrocities. They were also sexually abused by them.”

Two years after the harassment, they were forced to sell their land.

The woman said: “She (my mother) used to come home only once in four to five months.

“She was harassed so much that she would only call us late at night, at around 1 or 2 am. She hardly used to talk to us.

“They treated my mother like a slave and assaulted my father.”

Labelling Prajwal Revanna and his father “habitual offenders”, she has sought justice for herself and her mother.

Revanna and his father face sexual assault charges.

So far, three FIRs have been registered in the matter, including two cases of rape and one of kidnapping.

HD Revanna has been sent to judicial custody until May 14, 2024.

Prajwal Revanna is believed to have gone abroad.

The fresh allegations come after two men were arrested in connection with leaking the abuse videos.

Likith Gowda and Yalagunda Chetan are said to be aides of Karnataka BJP general secretary Preetham Gowda.
