“Mama’s day out!”
Sonam Kapoor has once again reaffirmed her status as a fashion trailblazer, confidently flaunting her baby bump in a powerful all-black maternity look.
The 40-year-old actor, currently expecting her second child, shared a series of striking Instagram images that instantly resonated with fans and fashion watchers.
Posting the pictures on January 19 with the caption “Mama’s day out,” Sonam challenged outdated maternity fashion norms with ease and elegance.
In the photographs, she proudly displays her baby bump, reinforcing that pregnancy does not require women to hide behind loose, shapeless clothing.
Her outfit featured a black high-neck crop top layered under a long-sleeve blazer, complete with a double collar and structured notch lapel.
Instead of opting for a traditional pantsuit, Sonam chose a pencil-fit maxi skirt, offering a sleek, maternity-friendly twist on tailoring.
The look was styled by her sister and long-time collaborator Rhea Kapoor, who added refined accessories to elevate the monochrome ensemble.
Sonam accessorised with a delicate diamond pendant necklace, a trendy waist chain, stacked rings, and a sleek black Hermès bucket bag.
Her makeup, created by Savleen Kaur Manchanda, featured shimmery eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, mascara-coated lashes, contoured cheeks, and a nude lipstick.
She left her long hair loose with a middle parting, allowing it to cascade over her shoulders for a polished yet effortless finish.
Beyond fashion, Sonam’s public life has remained closely followed since she married Indian businessman Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018.
The couple tied the knot in a traditional Sikh ceremony held in Bandra, Mumbai, attended by family, friends, and Bollywood peers.
In August 2022, Sonam and Anand welcomed their son, Vayu, marking a new chapter in their family life.
Alongside her acting career, Sonam remains a prominent figure in global fashion and beauty, endorsing brands including Colgate, Electrolux, Lux, and Mont Blanc.
She has also collaborated with Oppo Mobile, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Signature, reinforcing her influence across luxury and lifestyle markets.
Notably, Sonam serves as the Indian ambassador for international cosmetics giant L’Oréal, further cementing her global brand appeal.
In 2011, she was honoured as Brand Ambassador of the Year at the NDTV Good Times Gadget Guru Awards.
However, her public image has not been without scrutiny, particularly in 2020 during conversations around representation and accountability.
That year, Sonam was among the Bollywood actors criticised for expressing solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement while previously endorsing skin-lightening products.
Despite ongoing debates, her influence within fashion, culture, and celebrity discourse remains undeniable.
Her latest maternity look once again places her at the centre of conversations around confidence, motherhood, and modern South Asian style.
