"The wires in your teeth will be pulled out."
Adnan Zafar, widely recognised online as Ken Doll, has found himself at the centre of a heated social media storm.
With over 3.3 million followers on Instagram, he is one of Pakistan’s most visible digital creators.
The controversy erupted after he shared a video praising Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her fashion choices.
In the now-deleted reel, he commented: “Of course, the region that has a Chief Minister whose fashion sense is so spot on is the one region that is prospering the most.”
Viewers quickly noted that the video was posted as an official Instagram collaboration with PML-N Punjab.
While some followers applauded the lighthearted tone, others found the timing deeply inappropriate in the wake of the Gul Plaza tragedy.
Critics accused Ken Doll of appearing disconnected from public grief while celebrating style and prosperity during national mourning.
The situation escalated when Ken Doll responded defensively, boasting about his popularity, earnings, and premium brand partnerships.
In multiple videos, he belittled fellow influencers, labelling them “small content creators” and “tiny Instagrammers” dismissively.
He also mocked critics’ physical appearances, commenting on their braces and glasses, while threatening creators who challenged his stance.
Ken said: “If I get involved, then the wires in your teeth will be pulled out and glasses will break as well.”
Several digital creators, including Aida Sheikh, Ansar, Gram and Noor, Mona Hussain, and Permit to Life, responded publicly.
Their videos condemned his remarks as insensitive, arrogant, and hypocritical, especially given his own history of cosmetic procedures.
Public anger intensified when Ken Doll continued posting sponsored content amid backlash, including a Cadbury endorsement featuring an iPhone 17.
Social media platforms soon filled with boycott calls, with many users announcing they had unfollowed him permanently.
Some netizens claimed his recent behaviour merely confirmed an arrogance they had noticed long before this controversy.

Others expressed disappointment at his refusal to initially acknowledge wrongdoing, instead doubling down through defensive videos.
Amid mounting pressure, Ken Doll eventually removed all controversial content from his social media accounts.
He later released a public apology video, addressing the backlash and admitting his response to criticism was inappropriate.

In the apology, he stated: “I have learned one thing in life: everything has two sides, positive and negative.
“Every opinion also has two sides. I realised that my opinion ignited backlash.”
Ken Doll acknowledged that while some appreciated his remarks, others were hurt, and that impact mattered more.
Despite the apology, reactions remain divided, with many creators waiting to see whether his apology translates into changed behaviour.
