"Fix yourself first, and then try to fix others.”
Ken Doll recently reacted to statements made by Adnan Siddiqui and Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.
Adnan Siddiqui stirred controversy with his satirical remarks on women during a live Ramadan transmission Shaan-e-Suhoor.
He compared women to houseflies and while his comment was meant to be a joke, it sparked backlash.
Although the issue seemed to die down during Eid, it resurfaced after being discussed by several well-known Pakistani celebrities.
These include Mishi Khan, Fiza Ali and now, social media influencer Ken Doll.
Meanwhile, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar referred to Ken as “shameless” during a show.
This was in response to Adnan Siddiqui telling Khalil about what Ken Doll had said about him.
Khalil expressed his disdain for individuals like Ken Doll, labelling them as shameless and suggesting that he would personally address them.
Addressing the controversy, Ken highlighted the challenge of being judged in Pakistan based on character. He criticised the culture of character assassination.
He recounted instances where individuals faced backlash for speaking out against such attitudes.
He cited the derogatory remarks made by Adnan as an example.
Ken Doll also pointed out the irony of being labelled shameless for speaking out against such behaviour.
He emphasised the need for positive representation internationally.
Furthermore, Ken Doll highlighted his role as an influencer living abroad and his efforts to portray a positive image of Pakistan internationally.
He noted the unfortunate tendency within Pakistani society to discredit actors who achieve success internationally.
Ken Doll lamented the impact such behaviour has on tarnishing the country’s image.
He addressed Khalil indirectly: “You view others according to your own mentality. I see the world very positively. I want to promote the image of Pakistan.
“Fix yourself first, and then try to fix others.”
Despite the challenges, Ken Doll expressed his commitment to projecting a softer image of Pakistan globally.
At the end, he said: “Peace out and p**s off.”
