On September 13, 2026, the beloved Pakistani actress revealed on Instagram that she is expecting her second child.

The pregnancy comes 17 years after Mahira first embraced motherhood with the birth of her son Azlan from her first marriage.
This time, Mahira is expecting with her husband Salim Karim, whom she married in October 2023.

Mahira Khan made her debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2026.
She attended the prestigious event, having been invited for the global premiere of Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, by Bassam Tariq.
Speaking about what the invitation meant to her at this stage of her career, Mahira reflected:
“TIFF is, and always has been, one of those festivals I’ve looked to for films to watch out for.
“So, of course, being invited is exciting.
“But at this point in my career, what excites me even more is being invited to speak about Pakistan as an important South Asian voice, one that has its own stories, its own identity and its own cinema.
“To be able to be part of that conversation on a platform like TIFF feels very special to me.”
Beyond the film premiere, Mahira and director Bassam Tariq are also set to receive a significant honour at the same festival.
The two are scheduled to receive the Muslim Excellence in Cinema and Art award at the Muslim International Film Festival Toronto.
The dual recognition, both for the film and for their broader contributions, makes the TIFF appearance particularly meaningful.
