Pakistani Grammy winner Arooj Aftab has officially joined a massive global charity music project titled Help (2).

She collaborated with the legendary musician Beck to record a beautiful rendition of the classic song ‘Lilac Wine’.

This star studded album was released by War Child Records.

It features major international artists like Olivia Rodrigo and the Arctic Monkeys to support children in war zones.

The project aims to raise vital awareness for young victims suffering in Sudan, Gaza and Yemen.

All proceeds from the sales will go directly toward providing aid, education and mental health support services.

The UK-based charity ensures that the protection of children affected by armed conflict remains its top priority.

Fans can find the 23 tracks on platforms such as Spotify, iTunes and YouTube Music.

Additional streaming options for the new charity record include the popular platforms Deezer and also the Amazon Music.

This modern collection was inspired by the original Help album, which was first released back in 1995.

That first record supported humanitarian efforts in Bosnia and featured icons like Paul McCartney and the band Radiohead.

Oasis also performed on that original record alongside famous stars like Kate Moss and the actor Johnny Depp.

The 1995 album featured Massive Attack and O’Connor, while Oasis joined the project with the song ‘Fade Away’.

The new release includes a special bonus track of Oasis performing ‘Acquiesce’ for their many loyal fans.

Another highlight is ‘Opening Night’, which is the first hit from the Arctic Monkeys after a long hiatus.

The band had not released new music since their previous album came out in the year 2022 until now.

Olivia Rodrigo contributed a touching version of ‘The Book of Love’, which comes with a moving music video.

This video features footage of children living in war zones.

Academy Award winner Jonathan Glazer served as the creative director for this very ambitious and meaningful musical project.

Glazer is credited with giving cameras to children “to film their worlds through their own eyes” as part of the release.

Some videos of artists recording in the studio were also filmed by children.

These unique clips have been uploaded to the YouTube channel of War Child Records for the general public.

Arooj shared: “All proceeds will support War Child UK and the important work the organisation does for children affected by conflict.”
