"Bangladesh has already begun to feel like home."
Pakistani fashion label Maria B has officially entered Bangladesh, opening its first international flagship store in Dhaka.
The launch marks a historic moment, making Maria B the first foreign women’s clothing brand to operate physically in Bangladesh.
The new outlet is located at Centre Point Mall and represents a significant expansion of the brand’s South Asian footprint.
Bangladesh produces garments for global fashion houses, yet international retail brands have avoided entering its local market.
Maria B’s arrival is therefore being viewed as a commercial breakthrough.
The Dhaka flagship offers unstitched collections, luxury pret, luxury formals, casual basics, perfumes and handcrafted jewellery.
Shoppers visiting the store are experiencing the brand’s complete design universe rather than limited capsule selections.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, founder Maria Butt reflected emotionally on the brand’s long connection with Bangladeshi customers.
“Opening our first international store in Bangladesh has always been close to my heart, as we have long received immense love and support from this region.
Her remarks highlighted shared regional values, emphasising how fashion, food and traditions connect communities across borders.
She said: “In just two days, Bangladesh has already begun to feel like home.”
Industry figures in Bangladesh have welcomed the move, calling it an overdue recognition of the country’s growing consumer base.

Designer Shahrukh Amin said the store’s launch created immediate excitement among local fashion enthusiasts.
“It’s appreciable that a brand like Maria B recognised the growing market and consumer base in Bangladesh.”
Amin observed that Maria B’s distinct design language sets her apart from many designers currently operating in the region.
Before this launch, Bangladeshi buyers relied on overseas outlets or online preorders to access the brand.
Fashion Council president Maheen Khan described the development as an important step toward building a global fashion environment.
“A famous Pakistani brand launching its operations in Dhaka is a positive development.”
Observers believe the entry could encourage other premium international labels to finally consider Bangladesh as viable retail territory.
Model and fashion figure Azra Mahmood also welcomed the move, stressing its broader economic and creative implications.
“The more international brands come here, the better for our fashion industry.”
Maria B’s successful debut may redefine how South Asian designers view cross-border retail possibilities.
As crowds continue visiting the outlet, the Dhaka store launch is already being seen as a landmark moment.
