Khade later came up with a plan to murder his ex-girlfriend.
Just a day after she got married, a 19-year-old Indian bride was stabbed multiple times by her former boyfriend in Thane, Maharashtra.
The incident happened on Thursday, December 12, 2019.
It was reported that the suspect stabbed his ex-lover after becoming enraged with the fact that she married another man.
The unnamed woman survived the attack and was taken to a hospital in the city where she received treatment.
While at the hospital, she told police officers what had happened.
The woman explained that she was in love with a 19-year-old man named Vishal Khade, a resident of Vadole village.
They were in love, however, her parents arranged a wedding for her to marry another man, which she accepted.
Her acceptance of marriage to someone else angered Khade when he found out. The wedding took place on Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
A scorned Khade later came up with a plan to murder his ex-girlfriend.
The day after her wedding, the Indian bride had gone to a public toilet near her house.
At around 8:30 am, as she was on her way home, Khade allegedly approached her and became aggressive.
He then brandished a knife and repeatedly stabbed his ex-lover. The woman’s husband was also stabbed when he intervened.
Locals witnessed the attack and were able to come to the aid of the young woman and her husband.
The newlywed couple were taken to hospital while Khade was arrested.
According to Ambernath Police Station Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Dhumal, the Indian bride was in a serious but stable condition and received treatment. Her husband suffered minor injuries.
Khade was taken into custody and booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) under the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are underway.
Cases involving scorned people taking extreme action against their former lovers are tragic situations but are not uncommon in India.
In another case, a man stabbed his ex-wife to death after she refused to marry him again.
It was reported that the victim, Uzma Khan, was killed shortly after entering a shop in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh where she worked.
Her ex-husband was responsible as he and Uzma had an argument just days before her murder.
They had been married in 2006 and had two children. However, they ended up getting a divorce in February 2019.
Uzma took their daughter to live at her parent’s house while their son lived with her ex-husband in Sehore.
Two days before her death, the young woman had gone to the police station to file a complaint against her ex-husband, identified as Shakir.
He wanted to reconcile with her but she did not feel the same way. Shakir had tried to pressure Uzma into marrying him but she refused.
On October 3, 2019, Uzma arrived at the shop, however, Shakir also entered.
The estranged couple had an argument before he brandished a knife.
Shakir then attacked her, slashing her face and stabbing her in the stomach several times in front of her colleagues and horrified witnesses.
The Indian woman was left seriously injured and her co-workers took her to a nearby hospital. She died during treatment.
A police case was registered and officers investigated the CCTV footage in the area. They managed to identify the perpetrator and Shakir was arrested in Sehore on the same day.
