The third Royal Baby was born at 11:00 am in the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in London.

Fans of William and Kate will be pleased by the news that Kate Middleton has given birth to her third royal baby.

On Monday 23rd April 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge went into labour and was admitted to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London at 6:00 am (British Summer Time).

The new Prince was born on St George’s Day at 11:01 am (BST). He was overseen by senior royal doctors’ consultant obstetrician Guy Thorpe-Beeston and consultant gynaecologist Alan Farthing.

It is the first time that a Royal Family member has been born on St George’s Day since the Prince and Princess Michael of Kent’s daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor was born in 1981.

As the Royal son will have his full title of “HRH Prince of Cambridge”, there has been no announcement of the third royal baby’s name as of yet.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s previous two royal babies, Prince George (born 22nd July 2013) and Princess Charlotte (born 2nd May 2015) were born in the same hospital at the Lindo Wing.

Kate’s pregnancy was first announced in October 2017 where the Duchess was on maternity leave after her final royal visit to a charity lunch on Thursday 22nd March 2018.

Kensington Palace said in a statement: “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 11.01am.

“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

There will be the traditional royal baby custom of placing a framed paper proclamation on an ornate gold stand, behind the Buckingham Palace iron railings.

Prince William later brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the hospital to greet their new younger brother:

As well as having their third royal baby, it will also mark the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s seventh anniversary on Sunday 29th April 2018.

On 19th May 2018, the Royal family will also celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle. The happy duo who have been carrying out their royal duties around the UK also invited over 1,000 members of the public.

Princess Charlotte is the first Royal Family member to keep her position as fourth in line to the throne due to a change in the law in 2013 as royal males would have previously overtaken older female siblings.

DESIblitz congratulates William and Kate on their third royal baby who will be a fantastic addition alongside George and Charlotte.
