"Just missed my life in a matter of a few seconds"

Vishal had a near-escape with an out-of-control truck whilst on the set of his upcoming film Mark Antony.

The Tamil actor was filming a scene when the truck almost ploughed into him and the rest of the crew.

Video footage captured the incident.

In the video, Vishal was filming an intense action sequence with co-star SJ Surya.

It shows Adhik Ravichandran yelling “Action”. SJ Surya is seen kicking Vishal down whilst surrounded by extras.

But at the same time, a truck loaded with speakers bursts through a wall at speed.

Although the extras jumped at the unexpected sight of the truck, nobody reacted as the truck is part of the film and they thought it was part of the scene.

But as it continues towards them, they rush out of the way.

Vishal, who is lying on the floor, doesn’t notice the ensuing chaos and has to be helped out of the way by the extras.

As the truck veers to the side and approaches a building, one crew member is heard shouting.

The video was shared on Vishal’s Twitter and he wrote:

“Just missed my life in a matter of a few seconds and a few inches, Thanks to the Almighty.

“Numb to this incident, back on my feet and back to shoot, GB.”

The video received over 2.4 million views and many social media users asked if the actor was okay after the near-miss.

One said: “Oh gosh that looks terrible. Thank God nothing untoward happened.

“God bless you and the Mark Antony team.”

Another wrote: “This is so shocking. Shooting spot mishaps have been very gory sometimes.

“So many lives lost and so many injuries. This was close call for the Mark Antony team.”

SJ Surya tweeted: “Really really thanks to god.

“Accidentally, instead of taking the straight route, the lorry went a little diagonal and the accident happened, if it would have come straight we both wouldn’t have been tweeting now.

“Yeah, great thanks to god we all escaped.”

It is believed that the truck was supposed to stop once it collided with the wall. However, the vehicle continued to barrel forward.

The actor’s production house, Vishal Film Factory, said the incident was the result of a technical issue.

A statement read: “Scary and shocking. Due to some technical issue, an accident happened but luckily no one was injured.”

Mark Antony also stars Ritu Varma and is produced by S Vinod Kumar.
