"I am at a loss for words.”

The chilling kidnapping account shared by Nimra Khan has sent shockwaves across Pakistan.

She recounted the distressing incident where she narrowly escaped an attempted abduction in Karachi.

In a candid and emotional video posted on her Instagram, the actress detailed the terrifying ordeal that unfolded outside a hotel in DHA.

In her caption, she said: “I am proudly Muslim, but as a Pakistani, I am at a loss for words.”

This sentiment resonated deeply with many, as her experience highlights the additional vulnerabilities women face in the country.

Nimra recounted how, while waiting for her family in the rain, she was approached by three men who brandished a loaded gun.

Despite her desperate cries for help, the horrifying reality set in as four security guards stood idly by, failing to intervene.

She revealed: “I felt utterly helpless.”

Summoning her courage, Nimra managed to push the assailants’ motorcycle and flee, injuring her feet in the process.

Her escape was aided by a passing vehicle whose occupants intervened, ensuring her safety.

The hotel staff quickly provided her refuge.

Throughout her video testimony, the actress identified herself as a “victim”.

She posed a question to the nation – how can families feel secure knowing the dangers that lurk outside their homes?

As Pakistan approaches its Independence Day celebrations on August 14, Nimra Khan raises some important concerns.

She questioned the festivities occurring amidst ongoing threats to the lives of ordinary citizens, particularly women.

Her frustration as a taxpayer was evident as she questioned the effectiveness of contributing to a system that fails to provide fundamental safety.

In a moment of raw candour, Nimra Khan lamented the irony saying she could hire personal security to protect herself, rather than pay the tax.
