Vishal Kotian has been heavily criticised for mocking Raqesh Bapat’s relationship with Shamita Shetty on Bigg Boss 15.
In a video, Vishal sat with Karan Kundrra, Tejasswi Prakash and Umar Riaz.
The four of them mocked Raqesh.
After making fun of the way Raqesh spells his name, Vishal said:
“He scored big. He managed to impress Shilpa Shetty’s sister.
“Because of her, he is now going from show to show.”
This prompted criticism, mainly from Shamita’s mother Sunanda Shetty.
In a series of tweets, Sunanda referred to Vishal as a “snake” and called him a “most distrustful man”.

She continued: “A man who swears in his dead mother with promises.
“Utter disgrace and poses as a clean man latching onto Shamita to be seen and backstab his Akka so often.
“Eye-opener. Vishal Kotian, never trusted him.”
Sunanda then praised Rajeev Adatia for having Shamita’s back.
She said: “I watched Rajeev Adatia who stood up defended and took a strong stand against b*tching against his sister and took on Karan who tried to intimidate and threatened him.
“He did not take it lying down – Proud of you Rajeev Adatia.”
She was not the only person who slammed Vishal’s behaviour.
Actress Ridhi Dogra vented her anger at him and the other contestants for making fun of her ex-husband’s bond with Shamita.
She tweeted the video and urged the audience to vote Vishal, Karan, Tejasswi and Umar out of the show.
Ridhi wrote: “There are those that play by mocking people behind their backs and then give a nonstop explanation for their sneakiness by calling it ‘funny’ and those playing with truth and a game’s spirit.
“Audience, would you like being mocked? If not, take these people out. Simple. Period.”
Other social media users agreed that Vishal’s behaviour was uncalled for.
Shamita and Raqesh first grew close on Bigg Boss OTT before the pair made their way onto Bigg Boss 15.
Previously, Raqesh spoke about Ridhi approving of his bond with Shamita. He had said:
“She would be happy if I am with somebody and likewise, I will be happy if she finds somebody.
“Because at the end of it, we are two individuals, it’s water under the bridge now.
“We are two mature people and whatever decisions we have made so far were our own, we dealt with it maturely and we came out of it with flying colours.”
