"Raqesh and I are no longer together"
Amid the ongoing rumours, Shamita Shetty has announced that she and Raqesh Bapat have broken up.
In a lengthy note on Instagram Stories, Shamita said she and Raqesh “are no longer together”.
The pair met on Bigg Boss OTT and a few months after the show ended, they began dating.
In March 2022, Shamita travelled to Pune to meet Raqesh’s family, fuelling speculation they could be getting married soon.
But rumours of their break-up began circulating.
Shamita and Raqesh shot a music video in May 2022 and it is set to be released soon. Speaking about the music video and clearing the air about their relationship, Shamita wrote:
“I think it’s important to make this clear.
“Raqesh and I are no longer together and have not been for a while, but this music video is for all the beautiful fans who have given us so much love n support.”
Urging her fans to continue supporting her and Raqesh, Shamita added:
“Do continue to shower us with your love as individuals too.
“Here’s to positivity and newer horizons. A love and gratitude to you all.”
Raqesh also confirmed the split and said:
“I would like to share with you all that Shamita and I are no longer together.
“Destiny made our paths meet in the most unusual circumstances. Thank you so much to the Shara family for all the love and support.
“Being a private person, I did not want to publicly announce parting ways.”
“However, I feel we owe it to our fans to put this out. I am mindful that this will break your hearts but you can continue to shower your love on us as individuals too.
“Looking forward to all your support. This music video is dedicated to all of you.”
In May 2022, Shamita Shetty had spoken about the publicity of her relationship.
She had said: “Unfortunately, my entire relationship has been out there because we were on a public platform for quite some time.
“We did create a certain amount of fan following, and our fans love to see us together.
“But yes, it’s [the attention] tough. It puts a lot of pressure on two people in a relationship because you feel like you are constantly explaining yourself.”
