“A right man is the one who makes his wife happy"
Sanam Jung caused controversy with her opinion of what qualities an ideal life partner should possess.
In Sanam’s opinion, a perfect man is one who empowers his wife.
In a video, she says:
“If a man empowers his wife by allowing her to drive, opens her a bank account and helps her in pursuing a career, he is the suitable partner.
“If a man restricts his wife from working or denies her financial independence, he might not be the right choice.”
However, since the video went viral on social media, Sanam’s comments have gained mixed reactions from her fans and followers.
Many argued that a man is not only defined by how independent he allows his wife to be.
One follower said: “A right man is the one who makes his wife happy, offers her a strong companionship and gives her full emotional support.”
Others labelled Sanam a typical feminist, stating she spoke of financial independence but was unaware that some men did not respect their wives.
A follower commented: “It means our fathers and uncles were the wrong men who sacrificed their lives, happiness and rest for us.”
Sanam was also criticised for spreading negativity and insinuating that men who didn’t give independence to their wives were bad husbands.

One angry fan commented:
“A man that is willing to make you dependent and do the work for you should be praised.
“There’s very little masculine men left in today’s society and it is stupid women like you that don’t know what to look for.
“You don’t pick masculine men, lead unhappy lives, and then project that unhappiness onto others with these ‘messages’. I don’t want the sad life of feminists.
“Happy women don’t need to go complaining on social media.”
One social media user made a remark about feminists and said:
“Feminists only talk about getting independent because they have nothing else to say, but in the end, they want/need a man to run the family.”
