he is shown engaging in a few expertly planned action scenes
The long-awaited trailer for Ponniyin Selvan: II was unveiled at a grand event and it looks to promise a number of action-packed storylines.
The audio and trailer premiere took place at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium on March 29, 2023.
It was attended by several well-known celebrities from the Tamil film industry, including Silambarasan TR.
The main cast, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi and Trisha Krishnan, were also in attendance.
The trailer features a confrontation between Crown Prince Aditha Karikalan (Vikram) and Periya Pazhuvettarayar (R Sarathkumar) is a sight that is bound to erupt.
With his intensely expressive eyes and masterful voice modulation, Vikram flawlessly captures the emotional outpouring of his character.
Meanwhile, a romance between warrior prince Vanthiyathevan (Karthi) and Princess Kundavai (Trisha) is hinted at.
In the Ponniyin Selvan: II trailer, Jayam Ravi, who portrays Arulmozhi Varman, Prince of the Chola Empire, stands out for his masterful re-entry moment.
Notwithstanding rumours of his death, the prince is spotted visiting the Buddha Viharam in Kodikarai among the monks and is very much alive.
Following this, he is shown engaging in a few expertly planned action scenes that will undoubtedly be spectacular to watch on the big screen.
The appearance of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Oomai Rani was briefly seen towards the end of the first film.
Meanwhile, she had a dual role, playing Nandini.
It appears as though fans will get to see more of Aishwarya as Oomai in Ponniyin Selvan: II.
Even though she plays an elderly woman, Aishwarya looks as stunning as she usually does when she graces the cameras.
Aditha Karikalan and Nandini engage in a spine-tingling face-off confrontation at the end of the trailer.
He is shown gazing lovingly at Nandini as she wields the sword and prepares to murder him.
Vikram and Aishwarya will undoubtedly steal the stage with their performances in this scene, which features the unrequited love of the Chola crown prince and is incredibly devastating to observe.
Ponniyin Selvan: I, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name, was released to enthusiastic reviews from critics and quickly became a great hit both domestically and internationally.
The sequel to the Mani Ratnam epic is set to release in cinemas on April 28, 2023.
It will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
