"My little effort maybe just a drop in the ocean"
A Pakistani singer has uploaded a song on social media, dedicated to all the suffering people in India.
The Pakistani singer and songwriter, Imran Hashmi belongs to Lahore, Pakistan.
Hashmi took to Instagram to upload his song for the people of India.
The song is titled ‘Hum Tery Sath Hain’ (We are with you).
The message from the song is that let’s join hands and save humanity.
Hashmi wrote the song in regards to the ongoing Covid-19 situation that India is currently facing.
The entire world has come forward to help India cope with the pandemic.
People from Pakistan are also extending their support and solidarity towards Indians through any possible means.
This effort of Hashmi is appreciated and applauded by the peace lovers on both sides of the border.
In an interview, the Pakistani singer said:
“I was shaken to the core as I watched on television the worsening situation in India and the destruction coronavirus was leaving in its path.
“I wanted to show our neighbours that we stand with them in their hour of need.
“So I immediately started working on the song and penned the lyrics, which is about solidarity and hope.”
Efforts for peace
Hashmi believes that music holds the power to unite people and spread peace.
Regarding his song and its message, Hashmi said:
“I might be a random boy from Lahore, but I believe through my music I can spread the message of peace across the border and I’m also expecting them to reciprocate in the same way.
Hashmi is optimistic that little efforts from artists can end the tensions between the countries. He says:
“My little effort maybe just a drop in the ocean, but I’m sure that one day, even this little drop will show us how to love each other, just like when we were together.
“May God bless us all and help us through these difficult times.”
His song is winning the hearts of a lot of Indians.
The song has also been noticed by Indian media as well as Indian influencers.
Amitabh Mattoo, the professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Delhi, India has also shared the video on his Twitter handle.
Upon the appreciation from people from both countries, the Pakistani singer said:
“I feel humbled to know my message of love and peace in my song is now being spread across the world and I am also glad to know that Pakistan is being seen as a peace-loving nation.
