"It is a tag I am proud of, so if it exists, it is fine."
Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, who is the daughter of renowned Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, has revealed that she is proud of being his child.
Sara made her Bollywood debut with the film Kedarnath (2018), alongside Sushant Singh Rajput.
Currently, the 24-year-old actress is making headlines for her upcoming film, Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal (2020) with Kartik Aaryan.
The young starlet, who is two films old, has been captivating fans with her incredible performances, poise and elegance.
In a short space of time, Sara Ali Khan has created her mark in the industry with her dedication and hard work.
Despite being labelled a star child, Sara has earned her place in Bollywood and films.
Sara revealed that she is honoured to be the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and hopes she gets the chance to continue proving herself. She said:
“Honestly, I am still Saif Ali Khan’s child and that will never change.
“If people like my work then it is a good thing. I hope that I get the opportunities to prove myself.”
There is no denying that the star children in Bollywood have an easier route to enter the industry if they choose to do so.
However, this label results in extremely harsh criticism for the children who must work hard to prove their worth in the industry.
Sara Ali Khan is also often compared to other star children; Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of the late Sri Devi and Boney Kapoor and Ananya Panday, the daughter of Chunky Panday.
Sara continued to mention that she believes comparing people is pointless. She said:
“I feel all three of us are very young girls. I understand why it (the comparison) happens but to compare one person with another just doesn’t make any sense.
“I think three of us are very different as people, as actors and in general. So, I don’t see the point in comparing.
“They are my contemporaries and friends of mine and I wish them the best and I hope they wish me the best for my next film too.”
On the professional front, Sara Ali Khan is gearing towards the release of Love Aaj Kal (2020).
Sara’s Love Aaj Kal (2020) comes after her father’s namesake film over ten years ago.
At the trailer launch of the film, director Imtiaz Ali was asked why he decided to do another film with the same name. He replied:
“I think this story is a franchise idea. I have made two films with the same name because on the basis that I made the first film has completely changed and become new.
“I am getting the chance of showing something new and after that, I thought we can take this further. The process of ‘Aaj’ and ‘Kal’ in a relationship is changing.”
Proud father Saif disclosed that he watched the trailer of Love Aaj Kal (2020). He was asked whether it took him back to the time of his film (Love Aaj Kal 2009). He said:
“Not really. I somehow feel our film is not some ancient kind of movie.
“It was ten years ago but it stills feels like a film of the modern age.”
The film is set to release on February 14, 2020, marking Valentine’s Day.
He continued to wish his daughter and team all the best for their upcoming film. Saif said:
“Sara has my best wishes at all times in everything she does, she’s my daughter. So, bless them all and I wish them all the best.”
Saif also went on to mention how his daughter is also proud of him and praised the trailer to his upcoming film, Jawaani Jaaneman (2020).
He said: “Sara saw the trailer and said it was the best trailer she’s ever seen.”
There is no denying the adorable bond Saif shares with his daughter Sara Ali Khan.
The two are extremely supportive of one another and it comes as no surprise that Sara is proud to be the daughter of Saif Ali Khan.
