“He has always been there without even living with us."

Sara Ali Khan has been captivating fans on-screen and off-screen with her enticing personality and has commented on the claims that Saif Ali Khan was not an “absentee father”.

The actress has never shied away from sharing details about her family life. Sara was raised by her single mother actress Amrita Singh.

Despite being raised by her mother, Sara shares a strong bond with her father, Saif Ali Khan.

Previously the father and daughter duo delighted fans with their loving relationship on Koffee with Karan.

According to the Hindustan Times, Saif candidly spoke about not being an “absentee father” even though his children stayed with their mother. He said:

“I may not have been responsible at various times while in my 20s, but I’ve always been there and ready to do the best that I can do at that time for my kids (Sara and Ibrahim). I have never felt like an absentee father.”

Sara Ali Khan was asked about her father’s claim about being a present father in his children’s lives. She explained:

“I know my father very well. Dad is like me, so he says what he is thinking at that particular point. He never really says things for any ulterior motive.”

Sara continued to refer to Saif as a “great father.” She said:

“I love mother a lot. I think when you have a lot of time to show a feeling or emotion, it’s easier.

“Mum is a single mother and I am everything because of her but she has every day to show how much she loves me. I don’t live with my father so, I haven’t felt that (emotion).

“The only thing that I know about dad is that he has always been a great father.”

“He has always been there without even living with us. So, I think he deserves a special hug and love from me for never making me feel that he doesn’t live with me because he was and is always just a phone call away and that’s really comforting.”

On the professional front, Sara Ali Khan was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2 (2020).

The actress is currently filming for the remake of Coolie No. 1 (2020) opposite Varun Dhawan and Atrangi Re (2021) alongside Akshay Kumar and Dhanush. She said:

“I feel extremely lucky that after doing a romantic film with Imtiaz sir, now I will team up with Aanand ji (for Atrangi Re).

“I am a huge fan of the way he depicts women in his films. And then, I have an out-and-out commercial entertainer with Varun and David sir (director). I am truly privileged.”

Sara has also been in the spotlight for her love life. Previously, the actress was linked to her Kedernath (2018) co-star, Sushant Singh Rajput.

After that, Sara was rumoured to be dating her Love Aaj Kal 2 (2020) co-star Kartik Aaryan.

She was asked whether the chemistry on-screen has even travelled off-screen. Sara said:

“I don’t think it ever does. I’m not a skilled actor and don’t have much experience, so when I’m on set, the only thing I have is conviction and honesty vis-à-vis my character.

“So, there’s no scope for Sara to come into my work or vice versa. When I step out of my van I am a different person and I’m proud of that.”

It is certainly nice to see Sara speak highly of her mother, father and profession.
