Actress Pooja Bhatt has come out in support of Arjun Kapoor after he was called a “small-time actor” by Republic TV editor in chief, Arnab Goswami.

Arnab Goswami was discussing the demolition of actress Kangana Ranaut’s Mumbai office by the BMC.

The actress, who candidly criticised the ruling Maharashtra government online claims that the demolition of her office was carried out as an act to silence her.

Kangana shared a video of BMC officials in her Mumbai office. She wrote:

“They have forcefully taken over my office measuring everything, also harassing my neighbours when they retorted @mybmc officials used language like, “Wo joh madam hain, uski kartoot ka parinam sabko bharna hoga (everyone must pay for the lady’s behaviour).

“I am informed tomorrow they are demolishing my property.”

Arnab Goswami went on to criticise Bollywood celebrities who escaped the BMC on several occasions despite illegal constructions.

This led him to refer to actor Arjun Kapoor and his illegal terrace gym. He said:

“There is one person called Arjun Kapoor.. I don’t know, they say he is a small time actor. I don’t know who he is. But this Arjun Kapoor, whoever this small-time actor is.”

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta was the first to react to the journalist’s comment. Taking to Twitter, he wrote:

“Nobody is a ‘small-time’ actor. Get that straight f******d arnab. Enough of this demeaning and abuse of our profession.”

Reacting to the same, Pooja Bhatt shared several tweets online. She said:

“I agree with @mehtahansal when he says ‘Nobody is a small time actor’. People use terms like the above & ‘out of work’ actor, ‘B’ or ‘C’ grade actor as a means to dismiss & degrade.

“The joy & trial of being an actor/artist is that at some point you are going to be out of work.”

Pooja continued to praise stars saying:

“That’s what makes ALL artistes across board such courageous people. To constantly embrace uncertainty, to plod on & put your best face forward even after enduring failure.

“To follow your heart & hone your art no matter how average or brilliant people think you are-that takes guts!”

The actress further added:

“So here’s to the artists, the makers, the entertainers, the believers. We are warriors! Our tools are our hearts, our senses.

“Our strength is our vulnerability, our capacity to fall & rise again. Success is temporary, failure guaranteed & we still do what we do. Not everyone’s cup of tea!”
