The revelation comes after Rhea Chakraborty was denied bail.
In her bail request, Rhea said she was “coerced into making self-incriminatory confessions”.
She also said she had “not committed any crime whatsoever and had been falsely implicated in the case”.
However, the NCB argued that if Rhea is released on bail, she “may tamper with the evidence and also try to win over witnesses using her position in the society and money power”.
Rhea was sent to Byculla Jail where she remains in a cell without a bed or a ceiling fan.
According to reports, her cell is adjacent to the one occupied by Indrani Mukerjea, who was accused of murdering her daughter.
She has been given a mat to sleep on but does not have a pillow or a bed. If the court allows it, a table fan will be provided for her. Her cell is being guarded by two round-the-clock guards, in three shifts.
The actress was put in a single cell for “security reasons” as there are concerns that she could be under threat.
Rhea will be in judicial custody until September 22, 2020.
