Zayn kicked off Tinder for ‘Catfishing’

Zayn has admitted that his Tinder profile has been suspended after users reported it as fake.

The former One Direction star was previously engaged to Little Mix member Perrie Edwards before fathering a child with supermodel Gigi Hadid.

Since the split, there has been lots of speculation over Zayn’s relationship status.

Zayn has revealed that he is single and has joined dating apps like Tinder but it has not turned out well for him.

He admitted: “It’s not been too successful for me, I’ll be honest. Everyone accused me of catfishing.

“They’re like, ‘What are you using Zayn Malik’s pictures for?’”

Zayn went on to admit that since using the app, he has “been kicked off once or twice”.

Tinder sees users swipe left and right to match with potential dates. It also allows users to report profiles they suspect of being fake.

Despite the issues with Tinder, Zayn is happy with not meeting anyone.

He continued: “I’m really content and happy with being single for the first time in my life.”

Zayn also detailed his split with Perrie. The pair dated between 2011 and 2015, with Zayn proposing to her in 2013.

Almost a decade on from their split, Zayn admitted he was still quite naive about things during their romance.

He said: “From 17 to 21, I was in a relationship.

“I was engaged and [planned to get] married and I didn’t know anything about anything at that point.

“I thought I did, because I was 21. I was legally allowed to do everything, but I didn’t know s**t.”

The same year, Zayn began dating Gigi Hadid and the pair were in an on-off relationship.

They welcomed a daughter, Khai, in September 2020, before breaking up for good a year later.

He said: “From 21 to 27, I was with Gi, and we had a kid, and I didn’t really take much time to get to know myself.”

Zayn’s new album Room Under the Stairs, which has been in production for six years.

He said: “This is my favourite album that I’ve made to date, mainly because it comes from a place of sheer honesty and vulnerability.

“I wanted each song to feel as if it was just me sitting beside you telling you how I feel, singing directly to you.

“It’s raw and stripped back and the type of music I always hoped to make.”

“Working with Dave Cobb has been an amazing experience.

“The way he’s elevated the music is second to none, and he has done an incredible job helping me create this record.

“I hope we can take listeners on some whimsical, magical journey, and that they enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.

“I think just being where I was at that time, staying away from things and living with my own thoughts inspired me to want to write something from that place.

“I’ve got to put this out as a whole body of work, it’s something for myself, not even just for the world.”
