The lively Dhol and Bhangra group, Eternal Taal will be featuring on the new Channel 5 TV series, Jane and Friends on Friday 6th July 2018.

Hosted by the singer, actress and media personality, Jane Mcdonald, the TV show will welcome the talented all-female group for a lively segment of Punjabi music and dance.

Eternal Taal is an all-female entertainment group based in Birmingham that is run under the strong direction of founder Parv Kaur.

Parv’s own 25-year journey in the Bhangra industry has been a vital contributing factor when it comes to the group’s continued dedication to teach traditional Dhol and Bhangra to young girls across the Midlands and the rest of the UK.

It is precisely this work ethic and ethos of Eternal Taal which led to Channel 5 approaching Kaur in 2017.

Notably, Parv’s Bhangra story featured on BBC World News in the same year, and soon went viral. As her feature travelled across the world she and Eternal Taal gained global exposure.

Soon after, Eternal Taal was awarded ‘Best Asian/World Act’ at the Birmingham Music Awards 2018.

Already on a high, Parv was then surprised by Channel 5’s Jane Mcdonald at her classes in Birmingham. Expecting her usual performance at Dhol class, Parv was completely oblivious to what was awaiting her.

Unbeknown to Parv, Jane was hiding in another room. When Jane came bursting in through the doors to congratulate Parv with a camera crew following closely behind, Parv was utterly astonished.

Jane very quickly adapted to her surroundings and enjoyed the team’s lively atmosphere. She even managed to play a little dhol and even try out some classic Bhangra moves with the team.

The BAFTA award-winning personality then invited the team to join her on the sets of Jane and Friends in Manchester. The team seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience and will not forget it anytime soon.

The Bhangra group tweeted the below image showing the camera crew with the team:

Described as the largest and longest-running female Bhangra entertainments team based in Birmingham, Eternal Taal promotes Bhangra on a worldwide scale.

Notably, Parv is the daughter of Balbir Bhujhangy of the acclaimed Bhujhangy Group. She is also the first female Dhol drummer in the UK.

Since establishing in 1999, Eternal Taal’s female dhol players and Bhangra dancers have supported the belief that one person with a dream can accomplish anything.

Over the years, the team has expanded, and has since been able to take advantage of a plethora of opportunities at an array of high-profile and prestigious events.

Eternal Taal has since had many high-profile performances. This includes their five-time appearance at Glastonbury festival, as well as performing at the House of Commons, and on the Graham Norton Christmas Show.

Not to mention, the group has even featured in the Bollywood films Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, Shaandaar and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil along with performing for a large number high profile clientele. Most recently they were seen on the popular Channel 4 TV series, Ackley Bridge.

With such a long list of fabulous performances, it is no wonder that Parv and the group were given a welcome surprise by the Channel 5 team.

Don’t forget to watch Eternal Taal on your TV screens on Friday 6th July 2018 on Channel 5 at 9pm UK time.
