This Falgun and Valentine’s Day, OTT platform Chorki is set to release its new flash fiction project Tiffin Box for audiences nationwide.

The short-format film will begin streaming from midnight on February 9, 2026, which corresponds to February 10 in Bangladesh time.

Written, scripted, and directed by Rakayet Rabby, Tiffin Box features performances by Rukaiya Jahan Chamak and Prantar Dastider.

The film places food at the emotional centre of its narrative, using everyday domestic rituals to explore intimacy and connection.

According to Rabby, telling a love story through food is deeply rooted in Bengali culture and emotional expression.

“Telling a love story through food or a tiffin box isn’t entirely new, but in Bengali culture, ‘feeding someone’ or ‘sharing food’ is one of the most primal and pure expressions of love. There really is no alternative to it.”

He added that the tiffin box functions not only as a narrative device but also as a bridge between realism and imagination.

“In this story, I haven’t used the tiffin box merely as a medium; it also helps take the urban life of the story into a dreamlike world.”

Given the central role of food, the director insisted that cooking be shown authentically on screen rather than implied.

Actor Prantar Dastider revealed that he had to cook during filming, presenting his character as someone deeply connected to service.

“The character loves to cook, loves to feed people. In other words, the character loves to serve. And love itself is something you serve.

“My character is like that. The rest you’ll have to see in the content.”

Chamak described her on-screen role Mitu, as vibrant, independent, and resistant to traditional romantic expectations.

“The character wants to live joyfully and doesn’t want any burdens.”

She added that even such a free-spirited character eventually confronts emotional inevitability.

“But even that character eventually has to say, ‘The Creator has made some people whom it’s impossible not to fall in love with.’”

Chamak believes viewers will strongly connect with Mitu’s honesty and emotional warmth.

The idea for Tiffin Box emerged from the director’s reflections on urban loneliness and emotional disconnection.

Rabby said he began questioning how people continue to form bonds amid chaos, isolation, and relentless city life.

He concluded that love and food share a fundamental necessity in human survival and emotional endurance.

He said: “Human love is, in essence, a form of rebellion.”

“The rule of this mortal world is to fade away, but love fights against that fading.”

He further reflected: “When all the flavours of life turn bitter, only love can restore the balance.”

Alongside the lead cast, Tiffin Box also stars Sharmin Sultana Shormi and Tuntuni Sobhan in significant supporting roles.
