Narinder Kaur Horrified by AI Image with Jeffrey Epstein

Narinder Kaur has been targeted by cruel trolls after an AI deepfake of her posing with Jeffrey Epstein went viral.

Narinder Kaur has been targeted in a grotesque new wave of online abuse after an edited picture falsely placed her alongside convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The fake image was posted on X, prompting some users to question whether it was real.

In reality, the picture shows Epstein hugging Belarusian woman Karyna Shuliak, thought to be his last known girlfriend.

The image appears to have been manipulated using AI to give the impression that Narinder knew Epstein.

Taking to X, Narinder wrote: “And still they are able to generate disgusting images to degrade me… now one with paedophile Epstein.

“People already wondering if this is true. Horrific. @leicesterliz @Ofcom.”

Other users quickly began reporting the image.

Narinder believes she was targeted because of her skin colour and for being outspoken on social media.

She told Daily Mail: “I’m being targeted by trolls who know exactly what they’re doing, they’re trying to humiliate me, discredit me and attach my name to something so grotesque that people stop and wonder if it could be true.

“This is the new form of online abuse. You don’t need a real photo or a real event anymore. AI can invent it for you and within minutes people are questioning your reality.

“I think I’m targeted because I speak out. I’m a woman of colour, I’m opinionated and I don’t stay quiet.

“That combination seems to make me a magnet for this kind of hate.”

The fake image appeared to have taken inspiration from photographs of Narinder Kaur at a film premiere at the Tate Modern in March 2024, in which she wore a black dress and jewellery that looked similar to that in the fake photo.

The incident follows Narinder Kaur speaking out in January about being targeted by vile AI-generated sexual videos created using Grok.

She said fake videos showed her in explicit scenarios and racially charged imagery, including fabricated deportation scenes, digitally removed clothing and degrading behaviour.

Speaking to the Guardian at the time, she said: “It is so confusing, for a second it just looks so believable, it’s very humiliating.

“These abuses obviously didn’t happen in real life, it’s a fake video, but there is a feeling in you that it’s like being violated.”

“Men were generating images and videos of me being deported, as well as images of me with my clothes removed. I have been reminding myself humour is the only defence I have.

“But it has been deeply hurting and humiliating me. I feel ashamed. I am a strong woman, and if I am feeling it then what if it is happening to teenagers?”

Digital safety experts say the case highlights the dangers posed by generative AI, which allows trolls to fabricate convincing false scenarios involving real people.

Campaigners have repeatedly warned that such content can spread faster than it can be challenged, leaving lasting reputational harm even after images are debunked.

Sharing false information online with the intent to cause “non-trivial psychological or physical harm” is an offence under the Online Safety Act.

Anyone convicted of the offence can face up to 51 weeks in prison and a fine.
