You can keep up with the beautiful game on the go.
For some, football is a weekend pastime. All it takes is a brief check-in to Match of the Day for an hour and a half, and enjoy the analysis of Gary Lineker and his fellow pundits.
But for the die-hards, the whole weekend is a write off. If we are not attending live matches or travelling on an away day, we are watching in pubs, or keeping up-to-date with Jeff and the Boys at Sky Sports News.
And when the football season is over, so are our lives.
DESIblitz presents our top 5 apps for football, so you can keep up with the beautiful game on the go.
Sports Yapper

There are two types of tweeters on the weekend. People who tweet about football, and people who tweet about people tweeting about football.
Essentially Twitter for sports, Sports Yapper is the perfect forum for expressing your passion for the Beautiful Game.
A safe haven for sports tweeters, Sports Yapper is free from the latest X Factor gossip and Eastenders‘ updates. Instead, you get a live feed dedicated to football, as well as other sports including, F1 and Cricket, among others.
Users are encouraged to ‘follow’ their preferred teams, and ‘check in’ to join match discussions.
Stu Hughes says: “Addicted. Been on it months now. Totally stopped my Twitter usage.”

One of the Sky Sports Live Football Centre’s best features is its video content. The app offers exclusive videos from the Sky Sports News studio, meaning you can keep up with Jeff and the Boys while on the go.

Match Pint

Strictly for the pub footy fans, Match Pint helps you find the nearest boozer showing the game. Users can even invite their friends to join them at the click of a button.
As well as the obvious pub sports such as football and rugby, Match Pint will also show you which pubs are showing more obscure sports.
Are you a fan of Greyhound Racing fan? You’re covered. Beach Volleyball? You’re covered. Water Polo!? You. Are. Covered.
Match Pint filters its results through categories such as ‘My Events’, ‘Recommended’, and ‘All’, meaning you can tailor the experience for you.
If that’s not enough, Match Pint even offers a reward system in participating bars. Rewards include a free pint of Guinness, and a free drink with a burger, among others.

FourFourTwo Football Stats Zone

FourFourTwo Stats Zone is for the absolute fanatic. In fact, the other mentions on the list seem casual in comparison.
Having a hard time convincing your buddies that Harry Kane is the future? FourFourTwo can back you up with cold, hard stats.
Not only does the FourFourTwo Stats Zone app rigorously record match stats, it also represents them through a number of neat graphics.
For example, the app represents the distance and direction of all completed and failed passes, as well as indicating key passes and assists.
And for the fantasy football heads, the ‘Insights’ feature will help make sure you dominate your leagues. Live match stats and push notifications are included too.
Unfortunately, this one is only available on iOS, but a tidy mobile-friendly website is a great alternative for Android users.
Pabest34 says: “Awesome app that keeps getting better and better every upgrade. This is one app that any football fan shouldn’t be without.”
