“I was hearing very loud noises behind me."
Katrina Kaif revealed that there was a fight at her wedding.
The actress made the revelation while on The Kapil Sharma Show.
Katrina appeared on the show alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter to promote Phone Bhoot.
On the show, Kapil Sharma asked Katrina how she is addressed at Vicky Kaushal’s home.
She replied: “Kittu.”
Her response left fellow guests and the audience going “awww”.
Kapil then asked that because Katrina has seven sisters, did Vicky manage to save his shoes during the ‘joota chupai’ ritual at their wedding.
Katrina quickly revealed that a fight broke out at her wedding.
She explained: “I was hearing very loud noises behind me.
“As I turned I saw everyone fighting and pulling the shoes toward themselves.
“There were my sisters and Vicky’s friends. They were literally fighting.”
When Archana Puran Singh asked the actress who won the right, Katrina replied:
“I don’t know. I didn’t ask.”
She added that she was so busy, she never got a chance to ask about it.
Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal got married in Rajasthan in December 2021.
It was known for its secrecy, a ‘no phones‘ policy and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in place. Revealing why it was secret, Katrina said:
“I think more than trying to keep it private, we were restricted by, unfortunately, Covid-19.
“You know my family has been personally affected by Covid-19, and it was something that you had to take seriously.
“I think this year it’s been a lot better, but it was something that we wanted to really be cautious of, but the wedding was beautiful.
“I think we are both very happy.”
Speaking about her wedding, Katrina said:
“It felt exactly how you described it. It felt like it was a culmination of a beautiful journey, which was super unexpected for me.
“It just came out of nowhere. It literally did.”
Katrina Kaif revealed that she first discovered Vicky in the trailer for the 2018 film Manmarziyaan.
Back then, Vicky was transitioning from being in indie films to more mainstream projects.
When Katrina saw him, she was struck by his talent.
She recalled: “I remember (producer) Aanand L Rai showing me a promo of Manmarziyaan and I was like, ‘Who is this guy?!’
“At that point I just found it… Wow! He was so effortless and raw. He has that talent.”
