Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez is currently undergoing questioning in connection with a money laundering case.
According to ANI, Fernandez is in Delhi where the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is examining her as a witness.
Sources for the ED are also saying that the actress is not being accused of anything.
ANI took to its official Twitter account to break the news.
In a tweet from Monday, August 30, 2021, the news agency said:
“Enforcement Directorate (ED) is questioning Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez in Delhi for the last five hours in a money laundering case.”

Despite being questioned, Jacqueline Fernandez is not being accused of any illegal activity regarding the £20 million money laundering case.
Rather, it has been speculated that she is a victim of the racket.
According to sources in the ED, Fernandez was a victim of the alleged mastermind behind the racket, Sukesh Chandrasekhar, and his partner Leena Paul.
Speaking of Jacqueline Fernandez’s involvement in the case, sources at the ED said:
“She is not an accused, but is being examined as a witness in the case against conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.”
The sources also said that Fernandez shared crucial details about the money laundering case in her statement.
During their investigation, the ED revealed that a Bollywood actor was targeted by Sukesh. However, the name of the actor had not been revealed until now.
Since investigating Sukesh Chandrasekhar, the ED has discovered a sea-facing bungalow in Chennai, £80,000 in cash and multiple luxury cars in connection with the case.
According to the ED, Sukesh has multiple FIRs against him and is being held alongside others for alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating and extortion.
In a previous statement, the ED said:
“Sukesh Chandrasekhar is the mastermind of this fraud.
“He has multiple FIRs against him and is presently lodged at the Rohini jail.”
Despite her involvement in the money laundering case, Jacqueline Fernandez has several projects in the pipeline.
On the work front, she recently finished shooting for Bhoot Police with Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Yami Gautam.
She is also due to appear in Attack alongside John Abraham.
Additionally, Jacqueline Fernandez is due to make her Hollywood debut with the anthology Women’s Stories.
Ironically, Fernandez will take on the role of a police officer.
Women’s Stories consists of six stories, directed by six female directors and features an all-female cast.
Fernandez will star in the story ‘Sharing a Ride’, alongside transgender model Anjali Lama.
