"We are expecting an addition to our family!!
One of Bollywood’s most loved couples, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan are excepting their second child together.
Kareena and Saif tied the knot on 16 October 2012 in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.
However, in 2019, the actress revealed that she was warned against marrying Saif.
Speaking to Karan Johar on his talk show, Koffee with Karan, she explained:
“When I wanted to marry Saif, everyone was like, ‘He has two children, he has been divorced. Are you sure you want to do this?’”
Despite their initial hardship, Saif and Kareena are on their way to embrace parenthood once again.
In a joint announcement made by the couple, they expressed their delight.
They said:
“We are very pleased to announce that we are expecting an addition to our family!!
“Thank you to all our well wishers for all their love and support.”
According to an interaction with The Times of India, Kareena’s father, Randhir Kapoor commented on the rumours surrounding the news of his daughter’s pregnancy.
He said:
“I hope it’s true and if so, I would be very happy. Doh bachche toh hone chahiye to give each other company.”
The happy couple is already proud parents to their three-year-old son, Taimur Ali Khan.
Saif Ali Khan also has two children from his previous marriage to Amrita Singh, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan.
In 2018, Kareena spoke about the possibility of having a second child. She said: “Two more years.”
Later in 2019, speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Kareena once again spoke about the pregnancy rumours. She said:
“There is no good news related to a second child in my life. Both Saif and I are happy with our kid Taimur Ali Khan.
“As of now, we don’t have any plans for a second child. We both are very busy with our work and are trying to balance our professional and personal lives.”
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor will be appearing on the big screen in her upcoming venture, Laal Singh Chaddha opposite Aamir Khan.
The film was expected to release in December 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it has been postponed to December 2021.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan will be seen in Amazon Prime’s show, Dilli (2020), and the films Bhoot Police (2020) and Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2020) alongside Rani Mukherji.
