"They replaced it with Alia's face using AI."

A second video purportedly of Alia Bhatt has circulated online.

The latest clip featured Alia’s face morphed into the figure of the actress Wamiqa Gabbi.

In the original clip shared on her Instagram account, Wamiqa attended the screening of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (2024).

She wore a pink saree while Alia Bhatt also attended the event.

In a viral video also shared on Instagram, the same clip was edited to show Alia’s face but on Wamiqa’s body.

The song ‘Shukran Allah‘ from Kurbaan (2009) played in the background.

Netizens were quick to voice their distaste about the deepfake clip.

One user asked: “Is this legal?? You are using Alia’s face.”

Another added: “This is the actual video of Wamiqa Gabbi.

“They replaced it with Alia’s face using AI.”

Alia Bhatt's 2nd Deepfake Video Circulates OnlineIn November 2023, another deepfake clip allegedly showing Alia Bhatt emerged.

In the video, ‘Alia’ wore a silk top and shorts. She sat on a bed with her legs splayed apart.

With her arms raised above her head, the morphed clip showed her gyrating.

When this clip circulated, one user said: “An Alia Bhatt deepfake video is going viral.

“Where are we heading as a society?”

In the era of technology development, several Bollywood stars have fallen prey to deepfake material.

These include Kajol, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Ranveer Singh.

Rashmika Mandanna notably was a victim of a similar scandal.

Similar to Alia’s second clip, Rashmika’s deepfake video showed a woman purported to be the Animal star.

She was shown entering a lift. The face of the woman was morphed into that of Rashmika.

In reality, the woman was internet personality Zara Patel.

In November 2023, Rashmika issued a warning surrounding the dangers of AI.

She said: “Deepfakes have been around for a while, and we’ve normalised them, but it isn’t okay.

“I always wondered who would even care if I chose to speak up and point out that it isn’t okay.

“So, I’m glad people from across the film industries have supported me.

“I understand now how important it is to speak up.

“I want to urge women to take the help they need when it happens.

“I want to tell all girls out there that this is not normal.

“When something is affecting you, you don’t have to keep quiet.”

Alia has not commented on either one of her deepfake clips.

On the work front, Alia will next be seen in Jigra.

She will also star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War with her husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
