Priyanka supposedly disclosed her annual earnings.

A deepfake video featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas has gone viral online.

The star joined the list of Bollywood actresses who have fallen victim to technology crime in recent months.

Actresses including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol and Alia Bhatt have all been prey to similar AI content.

In Priyanka’s clip, the voice was altered to resemble the Fashion star.

The image was taken from an interview podcast the actress gave to YouTuber Ranveer ‘Beer Biceps’ Allahbadia.

The video seemingly projected a fake brand endorsement.

While promoting the brand, Priyanka supposedly disclosed her annual earnings.

In the video, the voice says: “Hi all, my name is Priyanka Chopra.

“I am an actress, model, and singer, and in 2023, I earned 10,000 Lakh.

“In addition to films and songs, I make contributions to various investment projects.

“I would like to recommend the project of my good friend. Her name is Ruchi Bhalla.

“You can earn up to Rs. 300,000 per week.

“All you need to do is subscribe to her Telegram channel and follow her instructions.

“Write to her that you came from me and you will receive individual condition.”

The deepfake video of Priyanka Chopra Jonas is still playable. However, the Instagram handle that shared the video has now been deleted.

The alarming rise in deepfake videos has resulted in galvanised debates about the dangers of AI.

AI content prompted Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar to hold a meeting to discuss the growing problem. He wrote on X:

Held the 2nd #DigitalIndiaDialogues on misinformation and #deepfakes with intermediaries today, to review the progress made since the Nov 24 meeting.

“Many platforms are responding to the decisions taken last month and advisories on ensuring 100% compliance will be issued in the next 2 days.

“A new amended #ITRules to further ensure compliance of platforms, and safety and trust of #DigitalNagriks is actively under consideration.”

In November 2023, Rashmika Mandanna issued warnings about deepfake material.

This came after a video of the Animal star circulated online. In the video, a woman came out of a lift.

However, her face was morphed into that of Rashmika.

Urging women to speak up, Rashmika said: “I understand now how important it is to speak up.

“I want to urge women to take the help they need when it happens.”

“I want to tell all girls out there that this is not normal.

“When something is affecting you, you don’t have to keep quiet.”

Rashmika’s video was actually showing British influencer Zara Patel, who called the video “scary.”

Reacting to Alia Bhatt’s deepfake video, a social media user angrily asked:

“An Alia Bhatt deepfake video is going viral. Where are we heading as a society?”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is yet to comment on the matter.
